Those using a VPN to get foreign (Turkish, Argentinian) pricing - how did you receive your confirmation SMS? I've tried a few numbers I found on the Net but all I get is "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later." What gives?

Can't - it preloads the +90 prefix for Turkey.
Hmm, quick search online suggests you should start the signup process without VPN on then enable it on final payment page. That way it doesn't ask for SMS.

Add Aus # while still registered as Aus customer. End Aus sub, day after expiry use Turkey VPN. I didn't get asked because Aus # was registered.
I think I tried that once before and it didn't work. I'll give it a go again.
I've used the Twilio free trial sms numbers for other services on occasion
ah. went and had a look and Turkey numbers are not self service due to "local regulation". on request.
Got all my cards blocked when I was trying to get it, so if one card doesn't work, just stop because most likely they will just reject the other ones too. I've to get gift cards now to pay for my Aus account lol, guess it's my punishment for trying to game the system.

On a Netflix subscription from Turkey and had to update my card details. When I updated card details (via VPN - Turkey) it asks for a Turkish phone number for OTP.
I don't have a Turkish phone number and there are only a few comments on ozb where people have faced the same - but I couldn't find a solution.
How do I overcome this challenge?Thanks mate, will give it a go. The chat support said I have exhausted my attempts at adding a credit card and am locked out for 24 hours :(
Merhaba! I tried again today, while being in Turkey, armed with all the help from here - and lo and behold it didn't ask for OTP. All praise to God. Yallah! :P

I used a turkey gift card which didn't require OTP and then when that credit ran out it automatically started using my existing AUS credit card that was already in the system. No need for OTP
It doesn't work for me. Ended up buying 12 months worth of gift cards.

Will need to update my card details later this year when a new one is issued (expiry coming up), so will be interesting to see what issues I have.

i have the a problem where my credit cards are invalid on netflix. This is occuring even on Netflix australia.
For me I believe it was sign up for one month with Aussie pricing and cancel then renew via Turkey with saved Payment Method
I managed to update my payment details without an SMS confirmation by updating my payment details on the Netflix App on my TV. It didn't ask for an SMS OTP it just accepted payment and logged into Netflix.
When I tried updating via internet browser or mobile app it required an OTP.
Legend! Cant believe there's a day my not so smart TV comes in handy.

TLDR: give them a call, asking to update payment details.
Just like to share my experience on updating payment method.
My account was originally in Australia, linked to my Australian Mobile number. Then immigrated to Turkey few years ago, now the original payment method is about to expired.
I tried to update payment method online but all free and paid OTP SMS receiving website/app I tried were not working for me.
Tried to chat with agent on Netflix website, the agent I got did not provide me a secure form to update payment method, only keep reminding me it doesn't work because I'm "travelling".
Then I call the number on Netflix's website, I asked the agent if I can update my payment details over the phone, they send a verification code to my registered Australia number to prove my identity then took my new credit card details happily. (And they only need card number name and expire date)

tried this, but no luck. The operator asked me where Im located.
They were not able to update my card details.
They instead advised me to cancel the account and sign up again in Australia
Hi, same process and outcomes- calling support fixed it and got an email to verify rather than mobile. new ccd deeds updated via phone automation. Cheers Dok
It was my turn to update my account today (needed to add new expiry date and cvc) and just sharing that doing it through the Netflix app on a TV worked for me. It suggests doing it through a browser first but there was a button underneath to update directly from the TV app which worked without any issues.
No need for worry for another 5 years now until this new card expires.
How did you do this? When I click on Get Help > Manage Netflix Household it says you can only manage account from the country where the account was created. Is there another option/button in the TV app?

Use your AU number? I have that set on my UK account just fine (and still pay in £).
