Edifier S3000PRO 2.0 Lifestyle Active Bluetooth Hi-Res Studio Speakers $699 + Delivery @ Mwave

100

First post

Best price on these for awhile although they are $721 at amazon today too. Mwave says $20 off for delivery on orders over $150 but I haven't checked so amazon might be cheaper overall.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

    these are sick, they thump

Can confirm, the thump is real. Initially I missed not having HDMI ARC but my connected via bluetooth to my Google TV I can control the volume. Grab the matching stands and you won't be disappointed

      • Yep - literally shakes the walls of my old wooden house with the right source.

      • Actually I"m disappointed as far as watching commercial TV. Many amplifiers have a 'loudness equalisation' eg a compressor, so loudest and softest sounds are at a more reasonable level, especially good with watching movies in the middle of the night, but also they're good at the ridiculously loud ads not being loud. So everytime there's an ad break got to constantly ride the volume, but if this had a compressor button there would be no problem,

        • If you're watching via a Windows PC try using the XMOS USB driver. It has an additional device properties -> Enhancements -> Loudness equalization setting. I haven' tried it (I live by myself so volume isn't a problem) but it might be worth checking out.

@MisterTree: Mine is connected to a regular TV via the digital coaxial connection (I think) . The TV it'self does have a loudness equalization setting, but it is not sent down the digital coaxial line. I tried connecting the tv via analogue inputs but this is where this Unit fails. There's a very obvious difference between audio it receives on analogue to audio sent via bluetooth or coaxial.

So it's a muddier less hifi sound without the loud ads or it's high quality audio with deafening ads. I have decided to retire the S3000Pro for this use and am now looking for a sound bar WITH Loudness equalization

  • Shipping was $2 to a parcel locker in Canberra after the discount.

  • Such a shame these practically doubled in list price.

    • Are you sure you are talking about the same model?

      • Yep, price was circa $649 a year or so ago and often went on sale for much less.

I paid around $530 6 months back, having had them, I wouldn't hesitate at this price if you can't wait. Well worth this price, and more.

  • These are great. I found I had to back the treble off a bit as it was too harsh at higher volumes.
Minor nitpicks are the remote sucks; light grey text on shiny dark grey background is impossible to read even in good light. If you change the eq, volume, treble or bass settings there is no way to tell where they are now set without checking the knobs on the speaker - no way at all with the eq and volume, all you can do is reset it.
But excellent sound and subwoofer worthy bass more than makes up for it. I paid $730 ish a couple of weeks ago and have zero regrets, the same price they currently back to on Amazon.
