Don't if it's for PS5. Many people have reported issues with the ADATA ones.

      • Damn it. Guess I'll cancel it. 😞

      • @Hybroid please share some links where people had problems.. not finding any using google.

EDIT: did fnd some disussions - seems it may have been overheating in the PS5 (might need a better heatsink) and also there's a firmware update which can only be applied if the SSD is in a PC - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/p2eudb/ssd_a…

I read through some reddit posts. Some have claimed that

          • read and write speeds never met what Adata claimed which was 7000MB/s.
          • constant crashing and reformatting required for the SSD

And it appears that they have changed the description to 6100MB/s speeds which matched what some users were getting. Most were getting 5000-5800MB/s

@Deuce: newer firmware supposedly ups the transfer rates and fixes a bug - https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/adata-pulls-gammix-s70-(blade)-firmware-update-after-ssds-get-bricked.html

Here's another one with few complaints: https://www.reddit.com/r/playstation/comments/poxz58/ps5_slo…

It's cheap components best avoided. Not worth $360 punt.

@Hybroid: Thanks for the heads up. Saved me some headaches.

  • Is this good for Ps5 or not?

    • Not my personal preference.

  • nice… well this and the 1TB WD 850 NVMEs both turned up in my letterbox this afternoon. Still waiting on the NVME heatsinks though.
