These things are great for around the house. 5 and 8 port models share the same power adapter so you can quickly and easily expand if you need to by just swapping out the switch without re doing all your power cable management. its also 5V 1A so you can theoretically power it off USB if you need (you will require a cable from Jaycar)

  • Delivery kills it.

  • 5 port is sold out.

  • I had a similar TP-Link switch that would randomly reset itself for 3 seconds. That was enough to get you kicked from a game. I would guess D-Stink would be worse. If you want something decent and still fairly cheap I recommend a Unifi Flex Mini.

I've got the 5 port D-Link, haven't had an issue at all with drop-outs (running my PS5 and Switch through it).

    • I have both the 5 and 8 port in my home setup and haven't had any issues over the last 2 years.

Why will it be worse? Was there a model that was known for this issue?

I've got a DGS-1008A sitting on my desk right now that's been rock solid for years, and another upstairs.

  • Officeworks should pricematch; they did it for me the last time these were on sale

Horribly unstable, I ditched all of mine for Netgear GS series, and haven't missed a beat since

Odd, I've never had any issues with mine.

      • Nor with mine. In fact it is my current choice for cheap routers, although I've had excellent luck lately and none of mine are flakey.

  • I have D-link 10/100M 8 ports switch (1008A) before , internet will drop off when copy big file in between .

  • Other option is the 5 port Netgear Gigabit on sale at $19
Unless they have chnaged them the case in these is metal rather than plastic
