However, I find both unreliable for purchases on Amazon and my last watch buy from Amazon US via AU didn't go through. YMMV. If it tracks, you get a sweet deal!

Some are $270 ish with leather band. I'd go with leather band if I had the choice. Metallic band on those Seiko are underwhelming

That's for the alternative dial/hands combo (that was posted earlier), unfortunately. Personally, I think the dauphine hands look great. I agree that entry level Seiko bracelets aren't that amazing, but I like the option of a SS bracelet and I think it is acceptable at this budget friendly price. I'd actually be tempted to throw it on a vintage oyster with hollow endlinks.

  • Good price. Previously deal was $362.72

So SARB031/33 was called mini Grand Seiko back and then and now they have a mini version of it

Basically a mini-mini-grand Seiko is what trying to imply?

Look, I don't come up with this naming rubbish. I'll leave that one for the forum fanboys. At least Seiko didn't call it an LE and jack the price by 25%!

      • Lol true! Was reading about the 11000 piece 140th anniversary 'LE' Seiko 5!

        • the downside is the hardlex

    • A mini-version that is bigger! lol

  • I must say this is a nice watch, looks better than the presage cocktail time IMO

  • Great looking watch. Lucky the silver, white is not on sale as I would have to buy it!

  • At this price, is it good enough as someone's first automatic watch?

    • +1

      Yes

Definitely. It's an entry level movement. I replace my own when needed. It is the most commonly used modded watch movement and generally considered a workhorse.

  • So tempted to pull the trigger on this, never had a nice watch before..

  • I don't understand why they keep skimping on the sapphire glass!!!

    • The price would be so small for them considering the scale they operate.

      • Doubt it costs more than $50 to swap the glass to sapphire. At this price point it should be a given…
