Seiko Prospex "Tuna" Solar Watch SNE537P $229 Delivered @ Starbuy

220

I sent through a price-beat request yesterday on this watch. Deepak replied this morning with $235, which I thought was a great price. Refreshed the page after an hour and found it dropped even further to $229. Probably the lowest price ever?

Google cache shows it was $349 on November 21 prior to the BF/CM sales: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:OQA7tz…

  • 20 bar water resistance
  • 46.7mm diameter case (excluding crown) but don't be put off because it has very short lugs and will wear much smaller
  • 12.6mm case thickness
  • V157 solar quartz movement
  • 10 month power reserve when fully charged
  • 120 click unidirectional bezel with lume pip

Word of warning: If you intend to remove the plastic shroud, the three screws are 1.5mm hex. Don't use a t6 torx, or worse, a phillips screwdriver like some youtubers have done. Seiko put a threadlocker on the screw threads so be firm but gentle; never force it. I took the shroud off my SNE577P recently out of curiosity and one of the screws had a lot more threadlocker on it than others. Just needed a bit more persuasion but wasn't impossible to unscrew.

Also bought the white SNE545P for $319 because that's been on my wishlist for a while

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2021

  • Looks rather strange deshrouded, reminds me of the bottle caps.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess, but even with the bezel its a strange looking watch and i wouldn't own it.

      • Took a while for it to grow on me, actually….then I got hooked with the "black series" version.

Removing the shroud makes it easier to turn the bezel for desk divers like me ;)
