Interesting reading. Thanks for the heads up

      • I was wondering why the above link no longer worked.

Go check the SamyGo front page to find out.

    • Cheers for that, mate. Was gonna get one for my mum…might wait now.

    • So according to this I can buy this one then Samsung "HAVE TO" upgrade me if i complain?

      • Consumer rights vary from state to state and from country to country — it looks like that Wiki page was written for a market outside Australia.

That said (IANAL, TINLA, YMMV), consumer law in Australia basically says that if it doesn't do what they advertised (e.g. display 3D HD), then you're entitled to a refund. The store is under no obligation to give you a better TV, although it's possible they could out of the kindness of their heart.

      • Didn/t the ACCC simply require that Apple refund the purchase price of their iPad 3 customers disatisfied due to their false claims of achieving 4G speeds in Australia?

        • I would say no one will return it after half a day waiting in line for it.

    • Explains why it is only 100Hz refresh when every other 3D TV has a min of 200Hz refresh

  • Good TV. My sister got it for $850… a little over a month ago

  • Who cares, like you could tell from the naked eye anyway, those images are zoomed up close. Any human eye wouldn't detect it.

if thats the case y donbt u just go and buy a 720p tv. u may get them cheaper

    • If you own Gran Turismo 5 go take some 3D photo's, then come back and say who cares when your TV screen goes black and comes up with Mode Not Supported. The resolution is not supported on this TV. Please change the resolution.

This happens after the photo is taken and you press the back button to go back to photo mode to take another photo.

  • Uh-oh, I knew prices would come down for 3D HD TV's but I just couldn't wait because wifey wanted to watch the Olympics. we bought our tv for $2 grand. and just the other day, same model at JB's costs 1996. oh well. expected to drop

So you lost $4? No big deal…

        Wow…. having a cry over $4..

Didn't know people were so tight…

        • +1

          This is ozbargain after all.

These prices are starting to become the norm. Nothing spectacular.

    • True but a very reasonable price for a series 6 for those who have been holding out

      • The longer you hold out, the better the price.

  • Just recently bought this, great tv
    specs: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/television…

unfortunately can't use the samsung camera for skype on this model.

  • Grabbed two, not fussed on 3d and wanted the discounted model before the 2012's come in cheers :)

  • What sort of codecs can this tv suppport ?
    Whats the Skyping like ?

  • better wait for the new 3d without glasses TVs i reckon. My LED FHD no-smart TV is not smart but has turned into a genius with a spare laptop hooked up via HDMI :D

    • Yep thats my setup at the moment, I was looking at replacing the laptop with a dedicated media player, but then thought maybe a smart tv might be able to do it all :) dreaming I guess.

      cheers

    • If 3D without glasses is anything like the 3DS's 3D, then you have to be watching it straight on.. If viewing from an angle, the 3D will not work. Enjoy fighting your family over the one good seat in the house lol. Everyone else will see double images. Also they will be very expensive.

  • I really want to buy one of these but JB does not seem to sell'em anymore. I can go to the product page but there's no order button
