@newbiesh: Because they got a delivery of ULP, not because of you.

The price can last an hour or a day. It all depends.

          • @newbiesh: Yeah, no impact to me, I knew of the price and locked before this post came up

            Amateur hour…

    • Did they kick you out immediately? Or did you use manage to fuel up. Keen to understand what data point 7-11 use to work this out

  • I have locked price expiring in a few days, how do I relock the cheaper price? :(

    • Have to use the current lock first

Maidstone 7-11 is 1.505. Western suburbs are consistently the cheapest in Melbourne.

Thankfully I locked twice last week, although I've been having issues with making new accounts or resetting passwords on current ones. Anyone else have issues there?

why on earth do you care so much about the profitability of a company worth USD$37bn?

      • +3

probably has a franchise. Hates it every time someone walks into his/her store and uses a fuel lock

      • +3

Probably works at 7/11, the one down the road from mine always dirty when I go in to claim freebies that 7/11 app offers let alone the cheap lock in fuel.

        it's not just fair.
just because someone is rich you should not rob them.

  • Saved $10 on half a tank yesterday. Looking forward to the next 7/11 post!

Awesome. Needs a few more upvotes to 200. Just coz it brings out a smile from all but one user on the ozb community

Sorry to hear that, good advice and tip!
That's really unfortunate, happened to my friend too, luckily 7/11's facebook team helped follow up and ensured the servicing cost was covered

      Unfortunately it's not a brand-specific issue

Hope you asked the mechanic to keep a sample of the fuel for you!

We still go to 7/11 for fuel and have done so for 4-5 years

Hope 7/11 make it right for you!

      • Yeah he got sample, they asked for photos too. Sent it to them.

They'll probably still play dumb, they trying everything already not to pay. They asking for all invoices of services and photos of service history along with other evidence. Gonna also send them footage of the dash cam, when the car got home tried to start after couple minutes, didn't start.

She filled up at United fyi

        • She filled up at United fyi

Ah, not 7/11, but still relevant advice!
From the above referenced post in my comment (which was apparently united as well!)

Edit: Submitted mechanic report and receipt to head office in Victoria and got a call from station owner advising that he will cover all the costs involved as water was in the fuel from my tank. Close to 50% of water was found in my tank after filling up from there!!

Not sure, maybe you can try to contact the "head office in Victoria" as well!

          Good read here also

          • @cwongtech: I think I remember a comment on ozbargain stating that quality control at 7/11 was very stringent hence safer, while United were the worst. That would confirm the observation.
Edit: that's actually the link from above comment :-)

          • @cwongtech: She did, they sent a claim form and told her to fill it out.

Bro had an issue only 4 months ago from 7-11, poured 98 and found diesel in the car. Had to fix from he's own pocket as he didn't get the receipt.

Thats why my old girl started asking for receipts, lucky she did otherwise 😡

@Bretttick: curious (and i may have missed it from one of your earlier posts) - did your brother pay via credit card and was the cc provider unable to obtain the receipt?

            • @Bretttick:

Bro had an issue only 4 months ago from 7-11, poured 98 and found diesel in the car.

Diesel is better than water I suppose (still need to clean engine but at least no water damage)
That's really disappointing, I'm sure there would have been other cars affected..

              Which 7/11 was this?
Must be the tanker guy pouring the fuel in the wrong hole D:

              • @cwongtech: Thats what happened, tanker filled up wrong tanks.

In Queensland where my bro lives
