Professional Looking Laptop You Can Game on?

I want to be able to take my laptop to work to type on that looks neat and professional, like a MacBook Pro, but also that I can actually play games on in Windows when I want it too. The Razor Stealth 14" seems fantastic but then it has that awful symbol on the back and is black, I would prefer that aluminum look, or something else sleek looking like my 5 year old Asus ZenBook UX501.

    Maybe the Asus G14?
One here for pictures (probably not a good price)

Added benefit of having a huge battery life.

Nice, thank you. I'll give that a good check over.

One that looks like a Macbook Pro, but that you can game on?
How about a M1 Macbook Pro?

I wouldn't go buying one specifically to game on, but if you want a professional looking work laptop that you can also game on, seems to be a bit of a turnaround from Intel days.

I don't believe it does well with Microsoft XBox Game Pass games.

Looking at what you wrote, won’t you get in trouble for playing games at work?…

    • It's rather about getting a multi purpose laptop.

    Dell XPS 15

    • +1

Do you have one of these?

      • +1

Yes, I have the XPS 15 9500 bought from the Dell refurbished outlet. I am aware it's not for everyone though

    • What gfx does it have?

      • I don’t know much about gaming. On the specs it says mine has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6. Though the fans are on constantly when doing things like GTA V.

  • +1

Really depends on the games you play but I suspect you may end up with a pretty subpar compromise that'll suck at both criteria.

Lenovo also have a large range of business looking laptops with dedicated graphics.

For example (but maybe not the best example):

Plus, with Lenovo on the back, who will think it can do gaming?

  • Acer Nitro with 3060

    • +1

Acer Nitro is obviously a gaming laptop.
Perhaps a bit more toned down than the razer but nobody will think it’s a professional looking laptop

    • Shit battery life even when not gaming. Shit screen as well and also looks like a gaming laptop

Razer blades with a dbrand skin.

    • +1

Now that is an interesting suggestion, thank you.

      • +1

I recommend the matrix or the camo. Another perk of the skin is that theyre quite fingerprint resistant.

cant you just buy a hello kitty sticker and stick it on the back???
nothing says professional like a hello kitty sticker :P

I was going to say any laptop is professional if you add either a penguin or wildebeest sticker. Although might be best to play it safe and trackdown one of these HIGH YIELD! laptops.

  • How are the HP gaming laptops these days? I used to have an HP Pavillion back in the mid 2000's that I also used for work that was very professional looking for the time. I think they have Omen gaming laptops these days, I'm not sure of the specs or looks as I've stopped keeping up to date with computer tech. Might be worth having a look?

I had exactly the same requirements. Something that looked professional for doing work (no, flashy badges, RGB bells and whistles) but had enough grunt to game on after work.

    Check the Gigabyte Gaming series.

    • Will do!

HP Zbook Studio would tick your boxes. It is not cheap though.

  • Lenovo Legion 5 or 7

    • +1, just got a Legion 7 (Gen 6) and it's awesome!

  • I love my msi gs65 stealth - so whatever is the updated version of this, I use it for work (except it is also black but with nice rose gold touches)

    Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 Pro, 5800H, 16GB, 120Hz 16:10 350nit matte screen, RTX 3050.

Looks incredibly professional (slim, sexy, no gamer aesthetics) and you can get it for $1600 on LenovoEdu store.

Thinkbook 16p Gen 2 is also a very good option. 5800H, 16GB (upgradeable), RTX 3060, 16:10 400nit 60Hz matte screen. You can get it for around $2k on edu store.

Both look incredibly businesslike and are decently powerful.
