Same price as the recently posted refurb

The Apple Pencil delivers pixel-perfect precision and industry-leading low latency, making it great for drawing, sketching, colouring, taking notes, marking up emails and more. And it’s as easy and natural to use as a pencil.

The Apple Pencil also features an intuitive touch surface that supports double-tapping. So now you can change tools without setting it down.

Made specifically for the 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation), it features a flat edge that attaches magnetically for automatic charging and pairing.

  • Also got a $29.45 promotion applied? Don't know whether its specific to this or from something else since I didn't have any gift card balance I don't think.

    • Also got a $29.45 promotion applied?

Maybe you had some credit in your account?

    • It was from my Oculus Quest 2 i'm pretty sure, thought I had gotten a free extra $30 off 😂

Sidenote, the 2nd Gen pencil is only supported by certain iPad models:
    iPad mini (6th generation)
    iPad Air (4th generation)
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) and later
iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) and later

  • Any reasonable alternative to the Apple Pencil for iPad Air 4

There might be if you were only gonna use it for writing.
There’s no alternative if you want to do drawing/sketching. Don’t waste your money on any alternatives.

It's been this price for donkeys

$169 for a donkey? Not bad

  • I wonder how my life would be like if I bought a legit appen pencil 2 hmm

    • The pencil is mightier than the sword

    • I wondered the same thing, it wasn’t worth it for the price

      • dang, I currently have the generic renaisser one and while it's OK for jotting down notes I often wonder how the extra levels of tilt/sensitivity would change my life.

  • Wow Apple is greedier and greedier.

Pretty decent price for a fairly novel and unmatched technological device that’s highly useful. The things I like are: responsiveness (really feel like you’re drawing), battery life, charge just by placing on top of iPad, tap twice to switch between pencil and eraser (or to change colour or switch between tools), pressure-sensitive, handwriting recognition, markup functions, precise selective photo editing.

Still doesn't justify the higher price no matter how good it is. It probably costs them $20 to make including the cost of researches etc.

        @ForkSnorter

So, by the same logic, shouldn't Tesla be selling their EVs at a price tag higher than that of the likes of Audi/Merc/VW (let's not even get Porche/Lambo/BMW involved), because Tesla cars are very novel, unmatched tech-wise, and highly useful?

I don't get people who think that it is "okay" to charge a premium, just because something something…yada yada… (fill in the blank).

I don’t see your point. Tesla are fairly expensive compared to your basic Toyota Corolla, etc. You can buy a cheaper pencil without any of the features of the Apple Pencil, or you can spend $~180-200 on the Apple Pencil if you need the features. It’s worth it for me, because I do a lot of photo editing, and occasionally need to fill out and sign forms (doing it with the pencil saves me having to print on paper), plus I find drawing with the apple pencil really relaxing and fun.

  • Thanks

I hate the size of the tip. Makes me feel like I’m a clumsy kid with a crayon 🖍
