  • Looks pretty cool but I don't think I could handle colours around the screen changing all the time

    • +1

It's suppose to mimic the colors on the TV, so it kinda makes your TV look bigger

    • It blends in, it helps rather than is jarring

    • +1

It depends, worth playing with the settings to dial in your preference. I found the high speed setting and max brightness to be uncomfortable. The low speed setting was too slow and laggy. I have mine set to the normal speed setting combined with half brightness and that really helped the system blend into the screen visuals.

  • Ha - even cheaper than the recent black friday deal. How much lower will this get?

  • This doesn’t work if you’re using built in apps on your TV. Is that right? Or is there a way to send the signal to the box at the same time?

    • No way to get at the signal using the apps on the TV. You'd have to use a Chromecast with Google TV or similar.

    • you can get Govee immersion kit and have to place the camera on top of the TV so it mimics the colors and does the same thing as this box You can use built-in apps on your TV

  • Meh! $AUD8 cheaper than what I paid on Black Friday (or maybe the aud has dropped since then).

    • thoughts/review?

      • Hasn’t arrived yet - shipped last week allegedly

      • +2

It arrived today (16th) and took about 30 minutes to physically setup - tv off wall, run 2 x led strips around tv edge and trim to size, attach box to back of tv and run power lead down to plinth. I did spend 30 minutes beforehand working it all out so maybe an hour in total.

Connected to new Xbox X (thanks to ozbargain the other week - ebgames preorder came through early on Tuesday) and it just worked.

It looks just like the vids on YouTube, super responsive and never misses a beat. Very happy.

Personally pretty disappointed in the product.
received yesterday and went to set it up straight away.
Ordered 65inch as that's my TV size. Even measured it before hand to make sure.
If you put the clips on the edge of the TV all round the LED strips end up being too short. By about 10cm each, not a small amount. So I had to remove the double sided taped clips, not an easy task, and put them all spaced about an inch and a half in from the edge.
You can use them without the app, if you put the starters at the lower right corner.
But there was a noticeable quarter second lag on the lights. If there is a scene/picture change the lights can be quite distracting, as it's not in sync.
I thought it might be because I hasn't used the app to configure them. But I can't even get that to work either.
Fair warning, the app says it requires GPS, Bluetooth, and local network access. Giving it all that I still couldn't get it to connect with the lights, and gave up after about 3 hours of fiddling around.
I used the lights to watch about 2 hours of YouTube, and a couple of TV episodes before disconnecting them due to not being able to concentrate with the sync lag.
In my opinion, this is just another cheap Chinese product (that also harvests your data) that's overpriced as it's one of the first on the market.

  • Does this need a white wall behind the TV i.e. will colours be skewed if TV is on a coloured wall?

I presume 1 HD cable from PS5 to the box and then one HD cavle from TV to box?

    • you can use hdmi splitter to work for more devices

  • i like this model better than Govee because it can go up to 120" for a projector screen. Want to use mine with HDfury vertex 2

  • Anyone know if it supports 1440p 120hz/ 1080p 120hz? Might jump the gun even though it’s not hdmi 2.1 as 4K 120hz is so rare anyways

  • Also a good review on this from Paul Hibbert.

  • Totally missed out

    • Discount code still works for me?

      • Oh yes it does! Thanks

  • Do these support ARC/eARC? On some forums I've read that while CEC works fine, ARC/eARC does not work between devices with this in between.

  • I have a 65 inch TV. If I bought the 60 length one, is it long enough if I just make a smaller loop?

    • Yes, you can.

  • Today I got my order delivered. There is a noticeable delay (latency) pretty much the same latency with the previous version that the YouTuber mentioned even it’s HDMI2.0. The video is great without any latency but the light strip does. I’ve checked the firmware in the app and it’s up-to-date.

Does anyone know how to improve the latency?

  • Ok it seems like a common issue that everybody is facing. https://www.reddit.com/r/dreamscreentv/comments/s3s82l/do_no…
(The video in the link above shows how long the latency is)
I have browsed Lytmi community and they don’t seem to understand what the latency is about by just explaining the “3 modes” while the latency exists in all modes. I’m very disappointed if they have no plan fixing it.
