[ACT] OzBargain 15th Birthday - Canberra Meetup - Southern Cross Club Woden @ 6:30PM 22/12/21

Hey all,

I noticed that Canberrans aren't getting as much love with the annual ozbargain event to help celebrate its 15th birthday and figured I would organise an event for you guys after talking with Scotty. I'll be travelling there for a small holiday break but figured I could help spread the love

EDIT: Southern Cross Club Woden is booked in for 25 people at the clubhouse next Wednesday (22/12/21) at 6:30pm. This event will be for all people, including young families or those wishing to bring their kids along.

If there is enough demand for a second event, I can organise a brunch place the following day for those that can't make it but cater to the younger audience

There will be ozbargain T-shirts and tote bags (hopefully) to give away to anyone attending.

    Interested to attend but depends on the date. Venue wise, could try pialligo estate, QT hotel or even Bentspoke for some local craft beer.

      Thanks for the suggestions! first two are out of the budget unfortunately and while the last option sounds like a really great idea, theyre sort of capping it to 12 people per booking so probably won't happen unless there's enough demand to split the event up to two smaller events. it looks like we might be able to pull it off with current numbers but i suspect most people are waiting for confirmation on place/time/date

    Been to a number of social functions pre-covid, booking out the downstairs area of Mooseheads. Basic finger food catering at reasonable Ozbargain-type prices. Central location and suitably downmarket.

      Thanks for the suggestion. I was considering this but figured it would be better for a sit and dine sort of venue so ozbargainers could socialise with one another over a proper meal

    I'll be travelling there for a small holiday break

    What is your travel dates? Quite a lot of people I know are taking a week off work before xmas to head to Melb/Syd so will be gone by 18th Dec weekend.

    Any chance it will be 17th Dec at the latest?

      Unfortunately, it will be after the 17th Dec as I've got a few things to tie up. The earliest I could so is this coming Sunday but most likely will be later on in the week or the following week.

    Thanks OzBargain for arranging a fun birthday/season get together! The Southern Cross club was a great venue and we all had a nice meal and shared our success stories as well as scoring a fitting tshirt!

    Wherever I am next year I certainly will attend another get together or personally arrange one.
