Why is it OK to give dads second-tier clothing and apparel? All dads deserve a pair of Adidas Ultraboost this Christmas

I've only got $54.99 to my name

No shoes for you. You could get sock, nice socks

    • +1

      Absolutely !!
I've got a pair of Adidas NMDs for Dad along with 1 more pair of walking shoes.

    • New balance 247s please

probably good value for a shoe, beats the $30 BigW shoes. But why is it advertised as a 'gym shoe' - not a great choice for weights, and if its a shoe for running then its a shoe for running…

    • +4

fine for those people that seem to wander around and play on their phones…

    • Yeah the average commercial gym goer would enjoy the mix of comfort and stability these provide - not great for your compound movement enthusiast, but a nice middle ground for most who are not that serious.

  • Just what I needed. Ordered one. Thanks OP!

  • Didn't realise Reebok was still around! Thought they went bust since Shaq O'neil gambled on it. DAIM!!

    • +1

They have been around and doing some awesome classic shoes recently. Owned by Adidas now too :)

      • Adidas recently sold Reebok for $2.5 billion

        • Oh that's right! I have a feeling the quality might drop

Worked at Amart 15 years ago. We had a reebok shoe come in with a RRP of over $200. cost price was about $45. after 2 weeks they went on sale to $69 or something with full page ads and the massive 'savings'.
A mate sold a pair the day before the sale to a guy for full RRP, i asked him how he could sleep at night.

    • +1

Surprised that the cost price was so high. I always imagined that cost x 10 is RRP.

      • +2

Production cost probably is but Reebok would take a clip by the time it hits the retailers

the previous model ( i think ) was and still is the best everyday and gym shoe i have ever had, bought 2 pairs. and i thinking of getting more for future use if they are the same.

  • decent for short runs (3 to 5 km) ?

CBA have a cash back of $10 for $50 spent at rebel that could be used with this I suppose.

    • just about to say!

    • Is this targeted or for everyone?

  • Any good for weight lifting?

    • Only if you use your legs to bench press

Anyone else hate how Reebok changed its logo?

    • The current logo looks like their 1997 logo

      • I liked the Reebok Delta logo/UFC one

  • purchased using Shopback extra $5 deal - lets see if it works

I've got a pair of these, been using it for 4 months and here is my opinion:

    Good
    1) sizing is true. I'm a US 9 and these are true to size
    2) Great cushioning - use it for gym. Not bad with 'leg' weights machines like leg press and calf raises
    3) Suitable for circuit work out - box jumps, skipping

    Bad
    1) although cushioning is nice a spongy, for running over 3k i had quite a bit of fatigue in the ankle and calf
    2) not great squats and dead lifts, again the cushioning too spongy.
    3) the laces provided with the shoes always come loose.

Overall, for that price its a great shoe for walking and casual sports.

I'll wait till theres a sale on the nano X-1 and give that a go. That's directed more for the crossfitters.

  • The black ones with gum sole look ok but they are $149.99 & no matter the colour these aren't worth that much lol.
