Appliance Central Returns?

Hi All,

I have a LG Soundbar (SP11RA) that was purchased from Appliance Central. The box is unopened and undamaged, It was purchased before the room was measured up and it is going to be too much speaker for the space, and I simply want to return it.

Edited: Thanks for the comments all, I'll advertise on here for a bargain for others, and learn from my mistake.

Cheers all.

  • What's their T&Cs say about change of mind returns? Check that first before going all ACL, ACCC. Most places accept change of mind returns but do charge a restocking fee.

When you bought it did they pay for shipping maybe the terms said customer pays return shipping
    Wish you luck

  • How long have you had it for?

Consider it yours? You paid, they supplied. They don't want to waste time and money mucking around with this sort of stuff.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but stores do not legally have to accept returns for change of mind.
Sorry to say, but you should have read the return policy before buying from there.

    On their website -

    Returns Policy

    Conditions of returns

You must advise us within 7 days of receiving your delivery.
Product must be in original packaging and unopen.
A 20% restocking fee (of purchase price) will apply
Initial delivery cost and collection fee will apply (fee will vary depending on your location)

Refunds will be issued once the item have arrived back into our warehouse and the item have been inspected per our conditions of return.

Hopefully you submitted the return request within seven days. If so, you should quote their own policy when you next call them.

Thanks @Kib33 I couldn't find the return policy on their site, and thanks everyone else.

Knowing this, in the wisdom of ozb would it be better to sell or return (shipping plus 20% restock)?

How can I go about returning the item? Is there an ACCC or some method that I can contact or pursue, or is there some Australian Consumer method?

Stores do not have to offer you returns/refunds for Change of Mind (which is what this is).

Most change of mind returns are not accepted anywhere and companies can legally refuse to accept change of mind returns, but most good stores that look after customers do allow returns for change of mind within X days (X varies).
