  • How do they compare to the pressurised air cans?

    • -3

It will pay for itself in just a few months.

      Apparently… 😕

    • many reviews say it's not as good as a can.

      • +2

It's ok, but TBH, its not worth this price. I bought the Opolar for about $39, and regret it. Just get a Aliexpress cheap alternative, but YMMV

    • +4

It doesn't have the short burst power of a can but it's much more cost effective and can use it for a lot longer. Strong enough for most dusting applications.

    • +2

Not as powerful as the cans. I have the OPolar one, and its ok for basic dusting but it doesn't replace an air compressor or the cans.

    • This will be usefull in 80% of situations where a air-can is used 1-1.

rest 10% if you use a brush in conjunction with this.

This gives long sustained rush but not as powerfull and pointed as the air-can initial bursts.

Where it totally fails is in situation where we have a clear up a straw or tube with dirt.

I wonder why no-one is making a refillable air-can with a same inlet valve as a car tyre which can be refilled using a bycycle pump or compressors at gas station or handheld rechargeable compressors. That will be best of both worlds IMHO.

      • +1

Just my opinion - you cannot make a compressed air can refillable unless it's as robust as our current LPG bottles. Otherwise some nut out there may accidentally and overfill and the can will explode.

        • That can be easily fixed by a safety valve. even a bare minimum one time useable puncture hole valve should be enough to solve that problem. Otherwise there won't ever be a pressure cooker, right?

      • If that existed then I'd rather take my pc there to dust.

    Just bought one the wife.

    Unusual name you gave it…

    • +2

      lol jv, grammatical error corrected!

Just bought one for the wife.

Why does your wife need blowing out?

        • +1

          You're not married are you.

    • +7

Much easier to get this one to blow

  • +5

This thing is really weak. There's a reason why it is marketing as 33000 rpm instead of the actual airflow measured in cfm.
Get the IT Dusters CompuCleaner instead, it's more expensive but more reliable
    For comparison:
This AirDuster/Opolar is around 35 cfm
IT Dusters: 70 cfm (90 cfm for the Expert model)

pretty happy with my opolar which i use in the car and keyboard for blowing out the crumbs etc

      • Can't say I am.

    • Yup, I can't imagine it would be much use, too weak.

I got one of these and love it.

Does a great job of cleaning keyboards and is very satisfying with things like cleaning vacuum cleaners (ie blowing dust out of out filters).

  • -1

This just redistributes dust else where. You need a vacuumm

    • +9

Don't use a vacuum inside a PC, it will generate static electricity which might damage the components

    • +1

Works well for hard to reach places (non pc use) Then I use a vacuum to clean up.

    • Normally you take the pc outside and dust it off.

    • Where did you think the dust would go when you blew it lol.

My inner child can't stop laughing when I hear "Koonie" (hint: It's a Persian word spelled without the "e" at the end)!

    • thanks i just googled it….

    • +2

      It's a Persian word

      Genuine question. Are you Persian?

Why do people identify as Persian? Why Persian and not Iranian?

It has always confused me. No offence intended.

      • Persian is the language I guess. Like you speak English, but you're Australian?

        • That makes sense but I know a Greek family who who have lived in Australia for 50 years and still predominately speak Greek in their household. They identify as Australian. It's like it's embarrasing to say you're Iranian so you identify as Persian. I could be very very wrong here and again don't mean to offend. Manny koshbin is a perfect example.

          • @Muzeeb:

It's like it's embarrassing to say you're Iranian so you identify as Persian

As I explained below, the word "Persian" has other meanings but this is one of the reasons anyway. A lot of Iranians feel like the current regime doesn't represent them and try to distance themselves from it as much as possible and using the older name of Iran (i.e. Persia) is one way of achieving this!

          • @Muzeeb: Here's Maz Jobrani (an Iranian comedian) explaining the concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwHOBJoASsM

      • +1

"Persian" actually has a few diffrent meanings.
1- Persian as a Language (a.k.a. Farsi) which is what I was refering to. They are the same exact thing, just anglicised in two different ways.
2- Persian as ethnicity. There are lots of different ethnic groups who live Iran including Arabs, Turks, Kurds, Lur, Baloch, Azeri, Mazandarani, Gilaki, …
3- Persian as nationality (a.k.a. Iranian). Iran used to be known as "Persia" to foreigners until 1935. Some people still prefer to use the old name (for various reasons but mainly to distance themselves from the current image of "Iran" and associate themself more with the old "Persian Empire").

So, to answer your first question, yup! I'm Iranian and also Persian and I speak Persian/Farsi.

        • +1

I appreciate your time and thanks for the clear explanation. Cheers

I have an industrial air compressor at home and even that isn't strong enough to blow away certain dusty spots in my PC. Doubt this would be that effective, probably check video reviews first.

    • Some dust needs agitation with an anti static brush then blown out (in my experience)

    • no it wont, it cant even beat air can in terms of raw speed/power simply it is not pressurized and the nozzle size/motor size.
but it is one press away when you need it. again apples to oranges, good to have, not essential at all.

  • This is good and price is good but micro usb-charging. There are many 2021 models with type c already in the market. Just FYI.

    • i just use one of those magnetic charging cords for this kinda of tool along with many others, this virtually converts all my item into one universal charging cable system. even usb-c cant beat the quick and easy connection of magnets.

      • I just desolder and retrofit with Type_C ports wherever possible and did the same to my atenge branded duster :)

  • I just use my ego lb6504

    • +2

You're meant to blow the dust out not blast your PC it into your neighbours backyard 😄

  • US dollars?

  • it is something once you have, you just cant go back.

quickly blow keyboard clean, blow camera gears, keep desk clean, quick but noisy. can air is stronger as the nozzle is way smaller but the can body gets cold or even condensation after a while plus it is limited.
