Almost pulled the trigger… Not my type of game but this is God damm cheap….

    • +2

My girlfriend absolutely hates horror games/movies but her watching me play RE7 got her interested enough to play Village. It's a really solid game and at this price is pretty neat.

  • +1

    Adding to the backlog. Cheers

  • +1

Good price for its length (as in its a short game)

    • +2

Played through 3 times, definitely felt I got my moneys worth. Replayability is quite high I found.

  • +5

    Price-matching Harvey Norman

  • good price, unfortunately i dont have ps5

    • -1

      Just watch gameplay on YouTube.

  • +2

I felt I got my money's worth paying more than twice this amount.

    Bargain at this price.

  • storyline slightly deviated from the original RE concept

    • +2

I've been playing since RE 1 and that's fine, everything needs to evolve. This is the best RE in a long time.

      • the best RE? better than the original RE1?

        • +4

Honestly yeah. Find it pretty hard to go back to the awful fixed camera.

          • @Merlict: agree to disagree. I am in the opinion that RE1 is still the best of all time and I don't think they'll ever outdone that.

          • @Merlict: Village is amazing but I’m not sure if it’s better then 7 unless you play 7 & 8 back to back and count it as one big game 🤔

        • +4

Village took the best elements from 4 and 7 and put them into one game.
RE series wouldn't be as big a franchise if they hadn't evolved past fixed camera angles (which were a product of their time to be honest).
If you like the original RE games then I recommend Tormented Souls, it's a modern take on the original RE and a bit of Silent Hill in there as well.

  • +1

Such a good game, worth $28 just for the House Beneviento level

    • -1

i don't feel any slightest suspense with this one. nothing like dog jump out at you, crows broke the windows etc

      • +4

I thought the 90s wanted their scarejumps back

  • +2

It’s not coming to PS+/Gamepass anytime soon right?

    • Probably not, it hasn't even been a year since release.

  • It's a great game but from someone that grew up with the franchise..
but this is in no way a true Resident Evil
title in the sense and more like a first person departure and spin-off

    • +2

True but this is the direction RE games will continue going in, first person seeing as though it's the second one in a row like this as part of the main series.

      • +1

I liked Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake better myself as they stay true to the games roots…
Apparently Resident Evil 4 Remake is on the way

        • I also preferred RE1-3 myself. I don't usually like first person games, but 8 was okay, and IMO better than 7.

I wish they would remake Dino Crisis 1-2

  • +1

Its this price for Xbox One and PS4 at Harvey Norman as well.

    • Cheers. Does Amazon ever price match Harvey's?

      • Well, they're doing so for this deal - so yes.

        • Nice. I need it on PS4

          • +1

@SpaceOdyssey: PS4 version hasn't been price-matched at Amazon yet - but I would be surprised if they didn't do it.

      • +1

    • +1

      Black friday Amazon promotion maybe.

  • Jeez, bought it for $90 on release, it's dropped so much.

    • +1

At least you got to play it straight away right? You didn't leave it wrapped in plastic in your pile of shame? Right?

  • +1

Still had it in my cart, when I was contemplating purchasing at 49. Thanks, OP!

  • thanks OP , order placed.

  • Want it for XSX

  • Brilliant price for Village, thank you.

  • +2

Ahhh. I’ll buy that at a low price

  • Amazing game with excellent replay value. Got the plat and still wanted to play, get it!

  • +4

bought a copy with washing liquid and a bottle of fish sauce, perfect combination.

    • Would you like fries with that?

      • yes, i now order both fast food and groceries items through amazon for that free delivery.

  • +1

Bought at $47 yesterday. Now to try and wrangle Amazon support to refund now that I've reordered.

  • My favourite game of the new gen so far (granted it’s on last gen consoles too).

  • Still available, Deathloop is at $44. It was $38 recently? Annoying because I wanna grab F1 2021!

I spose I should just buy a $100 GC for that $20 amex cashback lol

Dirt 5 ps4 has a free upgrade right? It's $25, is that cheap? Not as good as $9 tho errr

    • I bought Village from hardly normal.

Also, buy Deathloop, people!! So good

  • Wow dropped price quickly! Will it drop to $10 like Resident Evil 3 Remake did? Probably not I guess so.

Meanwhile Resident Evil 2 Remake physical PS4 game is hard to find anywhere at reasonable price anymore. I know about $22 on PS Store digital sale.

  • Sold out? Can't add to cart

Same price for PS4 version with free upgrade to PS5

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Resident-Evil-Village-PlayStation-...

  • Damn missed it all !

    • +2

PS4 version is still in stock for the same price via Amazon. You can upgrade to the PS5 edition for free.

  • There goes my $10 credit from the Netflix deal haha. Not bad, RE8 for $18

  • Oh FFS - it's back in stock on Amazon… just after I purchased it from Harvey Norman with $5.95 delivery because none of the stores in SA stock games these days (or at least this title). Grrr.

  • out of stock… how often do thy restock on amazon? anyone knows?

    • Not really.. just whenever they can/want.

  • Does EB Games or any stores price match Amazon? I guess they wont if its out of stock anyway right ?

    • +5

Why not just order the PS4 version from Amazon for the same price as it allows for a free PS5 update?

    • I have personally had a good experience price matching Amazon AU at JB - but yeah, the item needs to currently be in stock.

Haven't tried the same for EB yet (someone else can hopefully say more about that)

  • Doesn't seem available on Amazon.com.au

  • The PS4 version is still available at HN.
