  • You’d be surprised how fast amazon gets stuff out sometimes… i ordered something and it came the next day. (Yesterday)

    • +5

And other times it can take a week. I miss the start of Covid when they were still consistently fast.

Still better than eBay Plus shit show but.

      • I wish the delivery estimates would catch up a bit. If it's going to be 5 days, pls don't tell me it's arriving tomorrow Jeff

      • +1

They are still better than almost everyone else at any given time even during christmas+covid.

I literally had to email remind a melb company to ship my $500item out after a week when they promise 1-2 days.
One week later and it's not made it from vic to syd

        • For sure. I'm waiting on a eBay Plus order that only shipped after a week (the day it was actually meant to be delivered by). It's a joke.

          • @PainToad: EBay = middleman for buyers and sellers
            Amazon = online supermarket/hyper market

            • +1

@vinnychase: Not really. Amazon is a middle man for the vast majority of things. Look how many things don’t say “sold by Amazon “.

The only difference is Amazon allows (strongly encourages?) sellers’ products to be stored in Amazon warehouses with Amazon handling logistics. But Amazon is still the middle man.

Then there’s products not sold or shipped by Amazon where Amazon just collects the payment. In that case it’s exactly like eBay.

              • -1

@PainToad: Yup aware of that but I just want to highlight the fact that the Ebay Plus and Amazon Prime services shouldn't be compared because although the end result for customers may feel somewhat the same, the underlying factors are very different. The Ebay plus service is completely fragmented since the product could be from any seller and each seller would have their own logistics whereas Amazon prime eligible items are all at their fulfilment centre(including those of third party sellers enrolled in their FBA program) thus they have complete control over logistics.

                • @vinnychase:

Yes, but the rules on become a Plus sellers are very specific on the performance they must meet for shipping and delivery times, so in theory all sellers should be meeting similar standards to Amazon.

Issue is eBay doesn’t seem to be enforcing their rules and the Plus service seems to be becoming pointless.

                  • @PainToad: The problem is not with eBay’s enforcement or with the performance of independent sellers. Okay 3 buyers 1 in Melbourne, 1 in Sydney, 1 in a Rural area. All three buy 1 galaxy watch 3 from EBay Plus and 1 from Amazon prime. Amazon has warehouses in Melb and Sydney while the ebay seller is based in Sydney. Amazon gets delivery to both Melbourne and Sydney customers within 1 day using their gig economy drivers. EBay seller gets it to Sydney customer next day thanks to AUSPOST who picks it up from them on day of sale and delivers it next day. They get it to the customer in Melbourne in 2 days because Auspost spends 1 day transporting to Melbourne. Finally the regional customer. Both eBay and Amazon use Auspost to fulfill the delivery. However Amazon has the advantage that it can choose between its Sydney/ Melbourne warehouses as to which one is closer to customer whereas EBay has to send via Sydney regardless. So the chances are that a Amazon customer will receive the product faster.

  • It’s showing delivery before christmas for me. Thanks OP

    • Lucky you! Hoping mine arrive before too, then again, I’m sure there’ll be too much chocolate on the day already.

I used to love this when I was younger, but I had one recently and I wasn't too much of a fan anymore, the taste was different? Sweetness was overpowering it instead. Not sure if just a bad batch :/ the Aldi choc mint blocks are pretty good tho

All I really want for Christmas is for Cadbury to bring back their after dinner mints. My god they were good. They took them away, ruined Roses, stopped making the salted caramel dairy milk and snow flakes. What next!

I agree.. everything has too much sugar these days.

  • Says estimated delivery "tomorrow" for me.

Unsure if still available - bought these from Coles the other week - 2 boxes for $8.00. Didn't realise that was a bargain haha.

    • +2

The ones at coles are smaller. Value better on the Amazon ones if delivery free

I bought this last sale and the chocolates arrived melted. Chocolates were stuck to the individual paper wrapping and the mint oozed out. I had to throw out the box as the paper wrapping couldn’t be separated without tearing. Fortunately I did get a refund.

It might be better to get it from the supermarket.

    • Mine just arrived.

Put them straight in the fridge as I like to eat them cold.

Opened the box and the top layer of cardboard is stuck to most of them.

Haven’t opened the other two boxes yet but I imagine the same.

Did you get a full refund for all boxes?

Was wanting to serve these to guests but with the mints sticking to even the individual wrappers this wouldn’t be a good look.

Instead of enjoyment it will be peeling and spitting broken wrappers.

  • Got the last order of 10 free because they arrived as a melted, gooey mess. Hopefully I have better luck this time…

    • +1

of course its gonna melt again in this weather
