Cancelling Amazon Prime, Will It Affect My Free Delivery?

I'm thinking about cancelling my Prime service, and I've purchase items during my Prime membership, but they are still not dispatched. Will they still be eligible for the free Prime delivery if they dispatch after I've cancelled my Prime membership?

EDIT: spoke to Amazon Rep, if you cancel before dispatch then you pay for the shipping fee. Thanks for all the reply.

no as in I wont get the free delivery

or no it won't be affected?

        Yes.

          Maybee.

Has the money been taken out of your account?

If yes, it wouldn't effect it.

  • cancel it after its delivered..

  • My prime ended on 15th (not only cancelled but ended as well), but got some items delivered yesterday which were ordered before cancelling.

    • so it was dispatched before the cancelling date?

      • no, just ordered right before midnight

  • Are the items over $39? You may still get free delivery. But it’s supposed to be dispatched before your prime runs out.

    • no its not, its under $39
looks like I have to cancel the order too, if I cancel my membership.

You don't need to cancel the order unless you no longer want it.

Wait until items are dispatched before cancelling. Unless you are on yearly, then cancel and join for 1 month, assuming the cost of the new month subscription is cheaper than the cost of the shipping for the items you are waiting on.

    I dont know
But I would have thought as long as you've placed the order, I doubt they would be able to charge you within your authorisation for the shipping. (and would doubt they'd cancel your order because of this). You were a prime member when u placed the order

My opinion is if uve placed the order, it should be fine and u should still receive your free delivery.

Although I can't speak with any authority so maybe best to check with Amazon.

Pretty sure free shipping is applied at time of order.

    Why is everyone cancelling?

    • +8

Exactly my thought… Amazon Prime is the best value subscription service hands down!

      • +3

I'd get it just for the streaming. And I'd get it just for free delivery on random low value items too.

      No idea
      My most used sub.
I don't bother wasting time with eBay for most stuff now. Too many average sellers and rediculupus shipping times.
Amazon gets me stuff in 1-2 days, with a better search interface and reviews (both real and questionable).
Im in an area that uses Amazon freelance drivers, so no Australia Post delays.

      • +1

        maybe its your area.
more than half of the purchases I made were either delayed or cancelled.
even those sold by Amazon AU.

      • The drivers around my area are absolute legends. They don't knock, give me 3 seconds to put pants on and then leave like Australia Post.

      • with a better search interface

        You can't be serious?

Amazon's search is pathetic. Go search for, for example, an x570 motherboard, and on the first page we already get not only non-x570 boards, but non-AMD boards.

No, as long as your were prime when you ordered

  • I get $60 worth of shipping for $6, never cancelling. I hope we never go the way of Amazon UK.

    • What happened to Amazon UK?

      • +1

Prime free delivery is only for order over £20 or £30 I think it is

  • +1

Even if you cancel you can still order till the end date of your membership, I am on trial and cancelled but will still work till Jan the 8th.

  • Yes and No. Most items are free. You have 30 days "trial period" in which you can cancel. If you purchased an item in the mean time, the free postage should still remain.

I would think free delivery should apply at time of membership and your membership was valid at time of order. My 2 cents.

    On another note,

I've order a few things from Amazon and 1 of the parcel seems to have been lost/ hasn't been delivered. Amazon says I can get a refund. Only reservation I have is if I get a refund, or get them to send it again (unsure if this is possible) will that affect my cash back with ShopBack? I've got 10% riding on this and the cash back cost more than the 1 package that has yet to arrive. What are you thoughts guys. Thanks.
