Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G 128GB $999 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

500

Just got am email from Jb regarding this deal!!!

Wife has been using this one since launch and is really happy with the phone.

I was hoping samsung will match this price so i can stack it with the trade in bonus but no luck with that so far. Please let me know in the comments if someone is successful in doing that. Cheers.

Wishing all Ozbargainers a very Merry Christmas!!

Costco is selling it for 969 today

    • Wow thats awesome!!! I tried chatting with them in the morning and they refused to do it.

Will check samsung out as i missed the previous trade in deal.

      Thanks

  • How’s the battery life?

    • Yes how is your wife (OP not yours) finding the battery?

    • +2

Thats the reason I'm hesitant on getting this. Based on reviews the battery is probably not enough for a full day's use.

I've had the phone since launch. First couple days battery life was pretty rough but now roughly 30hrs on a single charge with 3.5 - 4hrs screen on time and always on display active on the small front screen. 5G signal isn't very strong where I live so switching the network settings to 4G and under is what I think contributed to the improved battery life more than any other change (ie: as well as always on display, i have wifi and bluetooth always on except when I'm sleeping via bixby routine to turn them off. Phone is usually on charger then anyway).

      Battery life is ok!!

She is not a heavy user so it lasts the day for her!!! She only charges the phone at night.

For me id say i will have to pop it on charge by 3pm imagining i start my use at 8am.

Besides that phone is pretty good in all other aspects.

I switched from mi10t which was the first phone in my life that genuinely lasted over 48h of my usage. Flip sometimes makes the whole day, and sometimes doesn't. It is a downside but I am still super happy with the phone. It's the best toy I could find under the Christmas tree ;)

    • I bought mine 2 months ago and the battery life was truly atrocious, however the novemeber update has fixed that issue and it is now last a full day and then some. In saying that, a friend has one and his battery is cactus and is being replaced under warranty by samsung.

  • Does anyone know what the in store gift card deal is this week from JB Hifi if you go on their 12 month $69 plan?

  • Sounds very expensive compare with last deal. I wont buy at this price

To be fair, last deal was basically an exploit (deliberately not posting the trade-in device) and from their T&Cs had the possibility of being charged for it, although in practice users reported this didn't happen. It required a decent bit of legwork to stack all the coupons as well, whereas here you can just walk in to a store.

      • Samaung/asurion could easily chase the bonus trade in credit applied to transactions but they choose not to.

It literally takes 5-10 mins to run the app and put your details for the trade in to save $500. Much less time than me driving to the closest jb.

It's on sale again for $499/$599 on Sammy store btw.

Provided you have a device to trade in?

  • wow….people are still advertising these in gumtree for >$1000 who bought them at launch. Samsung is just killing the second hand market by making these <$500

    • Smart move from them capturing the first and second hand markets

The amazing trade up deal is back on Samsung store folks!

  • The question that no one is asking, do you honestly really need a new phone?

My Samsung S10 is still going strong after 3 years

    • Many old phones, especially Android can't run certain apps. They also function slower than modern phones.

If I simply spent an extra 2 seconds with each touch, I would probably be wasting an extra 30-60 mins a day on work. That's enough to pay for a new phone.

Its the same issue with hiring a cleaner - no one "needs" to hire a cleaner, but for many people, you would be much better off working an hour overtime, than to clean the house for 1-2 hours.

      • App compatibility have gotten good since kit kat. Only a few games runs into issue if you use Android 8 or lower.

        • My startup constantly has more issues with android versions than ios, granted some phones are very old…

    • My S8 is a little slow and the battery isn't great.

    • People like new toys. 1k toy, at that, but toy nonetheless.
