Telstra in Absolute Shambles, Cant Even Post Sim Card

I bought a telstra prepaid 6 month sim card using 20000 telstra plus points, and $84 on the 13th. Only to find out it has not been sent and no one knows whats going on. And just found out they have an order tracker online. page not working. So my christmas, new year is ruined, and I cant start uber eats delivery or similar. The place is a complete shambles

So my christmas, new year is ruined, and I cant start uber eats delivery or similar.

So your Christmas and New Years is ruined because you haven't received a SIM card, Pam?

Order dispatches and deliveries have been delayed like crazy for some time now and it's been all over the news and even forums here. You only ordered this sim card week ago. I think if anyone ruined your Christmas, it was yourself!

    • -7

its nothing to do with delivery, it does not take a week to put a sim card in an envelope, they have more than enough money to pay someone to do that simple job

      • Order dispatches and deliveries have been delayed like crazy

This ^. I ordered a Google Hub with points a few weeks ago and received it in 4 days, in regional Victoria.

It's just that time of the year.

    • +5

Poor old Pam, now she can't order more face masks as Christmas presents.

      • -4

I no longer buy stuff from China much, whatever it is. So I bought stuff from overseas before to resell here, did not affect australian stocks in any way, I bought my own in. A trolls dream to attack

        • +2

. So I bought stuff from overseas before to resell here, did not affect australian stocks in any way

So you took advantage of the situation to rort people for masks ? :middle finger:

@screensaver: Have you ever come across the concept of "outlier"?

ObHint: When you're consistently on the receiving end regardless of the topic or the cohort, it isn't necessarily the population that is in error…

              • +1

@terrys: It's possible Pam is trolling the trolls …

              • @terrys: have you ever come across the concept of normalising nastiness? Thats what you are advocating,

                • @screensaver: I've seen your work. You're as much a victim as Scummo…

                  • -1

@terrys: Work? Thats a strange term. Ill place that in the snide comment department

  • +5

You could just buy a cheap SIM for one month.

    • +10

That's too logical for our friend Pam. lol

  • +8

    Pam is always so hyperbolic

So my christmas, new year is ruined, and I cant start uber eats delivery or similar.

  • +3

A bit of a hyperbole that it will ruin Christmas and the new year.. lol

Just pick up a $20 sim from Woolies while you wait for the Telstra SIM- https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Plans/Woolworths-Phone…

Sure you can get a cheaper Kogan or whatever one for $5 but it won't be delivered before Christmas.

    • -1

good idea, Cant rely on telstra plus

      • +2

Woolworths even have $30 Amaysims on sale for just $10 from tomorrow, buy one of those and Christmas and New Year will be saved.

        • my phone is locked to telstra

          • +9

@screensaver: Damn it's ruined again, sorry.

          • @screensaver: Woolies is Telstra

            • @JimB: No I have been caught out before, not useable. I had to get my money back

          • @screensaver: Grab an Aldi card. It uses the Telstra network.

          • @screensaver: Locked phones in 2021? You can pick up unlocked from $70, Android from about $100.

I know this is OzB but just how tight do poeple need to be?

            • @Ramrunner: The phone was purchased with telstra points as the points were earned and needed to be used before they would expire. But thats okay, you had to get your 2 cents in and make a snide comment, as thats the ozbargain way. You fit the mold. The cookie cutter troll mold

            • +1

              @Ramrunner:

I know this is OzB but just how tight do poeple need to be?

You haven't come across some of the OP's other posts, have you? Such as this one

              • @kerfuffle: "So my food plan and budget was ruined for the week"
"So my christmas, new year is ruined"

I now want to take screensaver out for a beer. Didn't realise things were so bad.

screensaver I apologize for my comment, but please chill out and stop stressing so much. You're in the best country in the world. These are honestly first world problems and not worth getting grey hair about.

                • @Ramrunner: I believe gray hair comes from worry. I long ago gave up worry, and decided to be a problem solver. Most problems have a solution. But not all. So then the solution lies in how to deal with not being able to solve the problem.

              • @kerfuffle: another snide remark. gotta get 2 cents worth out of that keyboard

                • @screensaver: You're the one who posted it, not me.

If you think this place is full of trolls, why do you continue posting here?

                  • -1

@kerfuffle: so you can get your 2 cents worth out of your keyboard

                    • @screensaver: When you have to resort to repeating yourself, you know you've lost.

Looking at the content you've posted ever since you've joined, it's no wonder you attract troll comments.

    • A bit of a hyperbole that it will ruin Christmas and the new year.. lol

It's pam, everything revolves around her

      • -2

well you really fit in here, Youll find lots of friends here. You can compete with each other to see who is the nastiest. Its a very active club. So youll be kept busy. Looks like you will give them a run for their money

        • Just remember, trolls eat trolls too, just like its a dog eat dog world

        • Hey pam!

  • +6

Only to find out it has not been sent

So my christmas, new year is ruined

    Well, that escalated quickly!

If your Christmas is dependent on being able to do Uber Eats, then I'd suggest you have a better look at your values…

    • -8

my values are fine thanks, probably better than yours

    • +1

I'd suggest you have a better look at your values…

You've been here long enough, to know Pam :)

      • -7

yeah I am able to show peoples character and expose them for who they truly are. Its not pretty

        • +1

          Am I not pretty enough?
          Is my heart too broken

          • +1

@Melencir: Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

            • +1

              @SF3: Oh, can't you see
              You belong to me?
              How my poor heart aches
              With every step you take?

  • +6

So my christmas, new year is ruined, and I cant start uber eats delivery or similar

You have internet right, how did you post this?…

  • +6

I vote we update the title to "Telstra Ruined Christmas"

    • -5

well yes they have. Most businesses are mindful of people expectations to get things by christmas, or at least on the way

  • +7

Don't let a miserable company, like Telstra define your Christmas. You have shown that you are a very resilient person throughout the year and I am sure you will be able to work around this obstacle. Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

    • -1

HA! Pam, resilient? Are we I. Opposite land today are we? More like persistent.

And Pam, just get your phone unlocked. Simples.

  • +1

How are you currently using your phone, if it's locked to Telstra and you don't have a sim?

    • im not

      • -1

Then use the phone you are currently using, that isn't locked to Telstra? If you don't like Telstra, don't buy a phone that's locked to Telstra? Go into a Telstra store, get a sim, walk out?

        • im on nbn, not mobile, and after my complaint there may be a temporary sim waiting for me at my testra store

          • @screensaver: Good work Pam, you solved the problem yourself 👏.

Now you can have a fantastic Christmas doing uber eats 👍

            • @brendanm: not so fast, I will believe it when I receive it, I dont trust them now

              • @screensaver: Keep us posted. I'd hate to see you miss out on your christmas wish.

  • +2

So my christmas, new year is ruined

Well! That is quite the tanty if ever I saw one… Can't you just get a temporary one?

  • hmmn.. do I look out for Pam or screensaver as my Ubereats driver…

    • not ready to start yet

  • Boost SIM order on the 10th has not been shipped yet.

    • Is that from Telstra Plus

      • No, I think it is from the same delivey system.

  • +1

Telstra = Evil Empire. Always expect the worst customer service, and the highest prices.

  • +1

The Telstra Plus points system has been a shambles from the outset. They are not good and inexperienced at running a decent loyalty program and always have been. They always try to do these things in the cheapest possible way. I expect minimal systems and investment. I did a redemption ages ago and it took 3 months to arrive. From memory posted direct from Singapore. Numerous status queries through chat came back with “we don’t have access to that system, sorry don’t know”. If anybody got a quick redemption I think your one of the rare few.

  • +2

well my complaint must have been escalated. Received an email with a tracking number, supposedly coming today. But I had to really complain to get this and waste an hour on the phone yesterday

    • +2

      So it's official?
Christmas is back on?..we can let Santa know…

  • yes got it

  • +1

I bought some Samsung earbuds on points. Dead on arrival and absolutely no way to contact them and no receipt to be able to claim warranty with Samsung. They did however waste more of my time while I attempted the fake unmanned contact details they have posted on their website. Just another example of a business that has destroyed itself with cost cutting and profit exercises for it's executives bonus schemes.

I remember a couple of times my landline was faulty so I couldnt call faults. I went to a phone box and was put on hold forever, in a public phone box waiting for faults. So I went to a store and was so angry they wouldnt serve me. I got a milk crate to sit on and went back to the phone box.

  • +1

I'm surprised there's not more empathy in the comments.
Yes it's a first world problem.
But it's almost an Australian rite of passage being driven half mad with rage by Telstra's customer service (or lack of).

    • +2

You should look at her other posts. OzBargain forum has empathy fatigue with her.

      • -4

they have more in common with you and your ilk

  • Title and reaction a rad over the too Pam. Glad it's resolved for you. Hope you had a Merry Christmas doing UBER eats.
    In short:
    1. Don't buy a Telstra locked phone.
    2. Order new Sim well before Christmas mail rush.
    3. Complain as much as possible to get what you want.
    4. Have a good whinge on Ozb forum to get it out of your system. Or read a Pam thread if you don't have first world probs to past the time.

    • -3

a bit hypocratic arent we? Seems you made a few of your own posts when you felt like it. But I guess you feel the need to spend your 2 cents today. It is a bargain forum I guess. Cheap and nasty seems to suit you well.
