So I could get a Feadóg Original Irish Whistle, normally priced $12.60, for free?

Note: the site also says free shipping.

    • +2

This is true, No questions asked.

    • I made an order and it went through!

  • +2

    Got myself a harmonica :) +1

  • +1

    Nice deal.

  • Ordered some guitar strings for $0.99 delivered. Cheers rep.

  • Its not working any more..

The coupon code you entered has already expired so it can't be used.

    • +1

Maybe it was first 30 or 40 or 50 orders or something.

      No, I'm not a rep.

How the hell did I become a rep, I didn't tick the box…

      • +1

        you got dicksmithed :P

        • No way, I didn't use all of the coupon codes!

    • +1

I think they realised they couldn't provide this to everyone who used it. Not a good business model

      • They need Starla, she's an awesome business model "Bluth homes: solid as a rock"
        ;-)

  • Expired :(
But nice deal. Still +1. Wish more great deals in the future

  • wow, it works. Amazing. Just ordered a harmonica, as well!

  • it still works…. thanks op

  • Code works for me, cheers. When does this expire?

  • $0.95 for acoustic strings, thanks!

  • +1

When I placed an order for the Hohner Silver Star Harmonica the price was $14.95 but it is now listed as $19.99

    • lucky me.. hehe

  • +3

Ha - it's funny, the Irish Whistle and Silver Star Harmonica are no longer under $15.00 :) The rep has quickly made pricing adjustments…

  • not works for me, so I thought it's expired. It seems working for someone else.

  • The Audio Technica SJ11 are a steal at $25 with free shipping. Look good and though the SJ55 sound better, $25 will not get you a better pair of headphones.

    Cheapest on ebay is $49

    • Those have gone up to $49.95 in the last 5 minutes…

Quick! Quick, Rep, increase everything as fast as you can!

      • damn still in my cart as $39 but on clicking the link, it tells me they are $49. at $35 you can get better deals.

  • some things just jumped in price from <$15 to >$15 which makes me :(

  • price increased suddenly & coupon code seems expired

    • It was $7.25 when I saw it.

  • +2

changing prices after the bargain is posted…

nothing like under-estimating the ozbargain spirit ;)

    • Gotta love that spirit!!

      • +2

How about a statement from the Rep explaining the status of this deal (and why prices are rising in real time)?

  • Has everything that was <$15 gone upto >$15?

    • Pretty much. Poor guy probably thought he'd get a couple dozen hits.

      • 158 hits probably means around 20-30 orders he is out of pocket ie totally free orders. While deal is still good considering the free shipping, the Freebie train is gone

    • Jambone Harmonica @ $14.95 (price did go up on it though)

      • they probably have a lot of stock on it. Still wonder how they can offer free shipping. Means they are going into loss even if the jambone harmonicas cost them 50cents

        • I'd bet a $2 hungry jacks voucher that they're drunk

  • just grabbed a harmonica…

lets see if the 'no questions asked, no minimum spend' comes through ;)

  • -2

    Everythings gone up after posting.
    No deal.

    • -4

      Hey Joedingy,

Unfortunately our website's prices automatically go up after stock quantities have been exhausted.

      Regards,
      Upbeatmusiccentre

      • +4

        Hard to believe.

      • +3

If items have been sold out, they should automatically go to "OUT OF STOCK" or "BACK ORDER" :)

      • +2

wat a load of bullshit. You serious.

      • Hohner Silver Star Harmonica RRP: $14.95

        You price: $19.99

  • +5

Just grabbed a $15 Ukulele … time to serenade the girlfriend!!! or have her hit me with it :p

  • whistle sold out dam kids would of loved that

  • Coupon code has been disabled….is it working for anyone?

  • Too slow,

The coupon code you entered has been disabled so it can't be used.

  • Aww, the whistle went up in price to 19.99. -wry- (And it's sold out) That said, I can't seem to add anything to my cart. :/ Trying to add a normal pair of headphones and it's stuck at Loading…Please wait…

  • Hohner Silver Star Harmonica just went up in price from $14.95 at the beginning of the promo code to $19.99 now…what the?

Same thing with the Feadóg Original Irish Whistle, was $12.60 at beginning of the promo, and is now $19.99…boy, do inflation move quickly!

Sounds like a scam, rep…sorry, but gotta neg vote this now.

    • -1

      Hey Soupiejr,

Once items have sold out they automatically go up to retail.

      Thanks mate,
      Upbeat Music Centre

      • +3

If items have been sold out, they should automatically go to "OUT OF STOCK" or "BACK ORDER" :)

        • -1

same happens to OW as well. Remember the $99 laptop fiasco?

    • The rep justified the rise, why the neg?

    • Soupiejr, the deal was already marked as expired before your comment. So we know already.

  • With items like that whistle being less than $15 AND free shipping, its too good of a deal. Pretty much a freebie.

Didn't last more than half an hour as expected.

  • Thanks Rep, I manage to get one :D

  • -1

Most products under $20 have sold out. Great reaction! We're posting a new deal soon. Keep your eyes peeled for the next deal!

    • +1

Do some headphone deals if you can. Not everyone can afford the $150 HD25s that were on sale recently !

  • +1

Original deal has expired. However we have allowed the code to work for purchases over $100.

FYI - We have exclusive facebook deals too.

    http://www.facebook.com/UpbeatMusicCentreAustralia

    • deals on elixir acoustic strings would be sweet

    • +6

Unacceptable, rep. The code was valid for less than an hour it was on OzB. Bait and switch.

I think this deal should be disappeared. Nodeal as it was very limited in availability.

      • +2

no way. legit deal, you missed out. it's just like any DSE 1 hour bargain…

  • ^Have to agree on that one. I don't see a deal here, i mean it was only offered for like what 30 minutes? And instead of the whole deal disappearing, its been increased for items over $100.

    That's a big no.

  • Not a great deal soz

    • just out of interest…. what would have been a good deal?

      This was $15 off…..

  • +8

What a bunch of Whingers. Some people got it so it was a deal.

I miss out on shitloads of deals, but i dont go around and neg em

  • +1

I could have got the Harmonica, but decided against it as I didn't need/want one :p

Hopefully some of the people who did get one actually use it.

  • +1

So was it a limited number of coupons? No info provided in OP before expiring…

    • +1

No… Can't you see that the deal was on the cusp of being Ozbargained, so the rep did the smart thing and pulled the plug before things got out of hand?

      • +2

Uptake has nothing to do with it. Rep posted it here. It wasn't like the offer was taken from elsewhere or abused. Rep encouraged the OzBargain audience to take it up (as company wanted/expected).

It said 1 per customer, that's all. Well plenty of customers didn't get one as advertised. The conditions were also subsequently changed to only apply above $100.
If there's limit being placed it should be advised when the offer is made not arbitrarily applied (esp as it's a virtual offer not a stock item that runs out).

To make it clear, imagine if they pulled this offer (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67298) part way through and then said they'll only offer it over $100 spend. Same logic.

Not saying the offer wasn't good/genuine. Just that companies need to think before, not after, and be clear in their representation of the offer - that's actually the smart (and expected) thing.

        • +1

We are not entitled to anything, just like with the Dick Smith deal they didn't have to give us those things at those prices.

The rep did post here but they didn't say what the limit was. They also didn't expect the amount of people using this website and underestimated the power of ozbargain.

Stores can advertise pretty much what ever they want, if anyone clicked the link after the expired tag was posted and missed out, what did you expect. Remember someone has to report the deal as expired before the website shows the tag.

Just that companies need to think before, not after, and be clear in their representation of the offer - that's actually the smart (and expected) thing.

You have to give them some slack, they were taking the risk offering $15 off and free shipping, and some people(including me) got some great bargains out of it. I would be butthurt as well if I missed out but as the saying goes you snooze you lose

        • +2

It's not about people legitimately missing out on a clear offer. It's expected that some people will always miss out but I think my point is being lost based on your response.

          • Customers are entitled to clear terms
          • It's not hard to specify the limit when there obviously is one
          • People consider it unfair when offer terms are changed at will

These are statements of fact not emotion. I already said the offer was good deal and the OP is to be commended for that. People should be able to offer constructive feedback -without- being lumped together with those just disappointed they missed out or negging inappropriately.

        • The meaning is not lost. The rep didn't put the entire terms and conditions of the deal, which was the problem here.

They changed prices in between the promo, again unethical but not illegal( I think). They changed the terms of $15 off and again that was unethical, but I would have done the same rather than cope a loss just to keep all OzB happy.

Being the first time they posted on OzB, I think we should cut them some slack since they had no idea what the target market is like.

For the record I agree with you, and was not lumping you with anyone. When I say butthurt, I meant me and not you. If they pull this kind of trick on us again, that is where the line would have to be drawn but I think they have learnt their lessons

        • Agreed. That's why I felt I cut them slack, didn't neg them, commended them on their offer and provided reasonable suggestions here for improvement - As well as here to keep Pete happy ;-)

I don't like it when people neg just if they miss out either. That's why it's important for people to post their reasons so it doesn't just come across as being an emotional (understandable) reaction or get misconstrued.

          Cheers.

Op should have made the deal clearer…

  • +7

    Hey guys,

I think some of you may have read into this a little too much.

Some of you have said that you couldn’t understand how the deal worked and why you had missed out.

The deal was one voucher per customer, redeemable on all items on our website. When all the items sold out, we had no choice but to expire the deal early.

We anticipated a large number of freebies to be given out but we didn’t think they would sell out within the first hour. Heaps of lucky people got in early and got the deal while others missed out. You gotta be in fast with this kind of deal.

This is our first deal through OzBargain and we acknowledge that there were a few hiccups. We hope you can forgive us for that.

We will be back sooner than you think with more great deals and we’ll make sure that we outline the rules better.

    Thanks guys.

    Have a great Easter!!

Negative Votes posted after this deal had been marked as expired have been removed.

    1. Pointless - "What?" - well read the voting guidelines and understand what negative votes are used for.
    2. Invalid - again read the guidelines

Now for the free speech advocates here, for and against limited offers, vent your frustration and opinions where it counts. I have opened a thread too discuss what obviously you are really concerned about here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67339

  • Title should now read " purchases over $100 " not " NO Minimum Purchase Required! "

    • +1

This deal is expired. If we changed the title, then the thread and it's comments wouldn't make sense. If you think the new promotion offered by the rep is good, then feel free to post it as a deal.

      • Fair call.. Not a fan of how the deal "went down". Some comments suggest the same thoughts. Will pass on a new post for this store/rep.
