I've been using Torguard for 4 years and very happy with their service. I pay $50USD/2 years (approx $34/year) so very well worth it. They don't keep logs and their customer service is great.
PIA is great too in terms of priacy. They were asked to produce logs by court but true to their word, they had nothing to show because they didn't keep logs. They currently have a good deal at $109 for 3 years ($36/year).
If you don't mind forking out a bit of money, Mullvad is highly regarded in terms of speed and privacy.
Appreciate all the links, I've been using NordVPN for quite a while without any real issue but am looking at switching. I've no idea on how good they are for privacy but lately their servers have been extremely fast. I figured out my ISP throttles certain things because if I go through a VPN it suddenly gets significantly faster, heh.

Depends why you want a VPN. I've been with PIA, Mullvad, Windscribe, all good. I'm not concerned about illegal stuff so not anal about logs, just prefer the state not know my every move - in fact I'd prefer some unknown Russian or Chinese agent 15000km away spy on my doings rather than the corrupt liars here who are pretending they're looking after me by recording my tracks.
I'm using Nord because it works flawlessly with Netflix and most other streamings using the Android app. Was with Torguard before but had to pay for dedicated IP to make Netflix work. Still good, both have great support.
I also have a subscription for PureVPN, which is pretty bad in many ways, from app to support. Wouldn't recommend.
PIA for me. Got a 5 year subscription on a deal here once, still plenty to go.

Have probably only used it 3 times for signing up to things. I wouldn't use a VPN for daily browsing/downloading due to a slowdown in speed.

I mainly use VPN just to access cheaper services or streaming services that are blocked, I've tried almost all the popular options that everyone recommends Expressvpn(regret buying 1 year sub), nord, windscribe etc etc. None of them work because all their servers are blacklisted. If your just looking for privacy and fast speeds I'm sure the popular options are perfectly fine but only one I've used SO FAR thats worked for my needs was Hidemyass and Tunnelbear.

I just make new accounts on hma for the 7 day trial then cancel straight away. Tunnel bear has free 500mb per month I only started using tunnelbear recently cause I got tired of making new accounts hma so I can't vouch for it that well. I've only been using TB to buy games from Steam from a different country but for setting up Netflix Turkey/Youtube premium India I used hidemyass and you only need to use a vpn once to setup those accounts so no point in paying yearly subscription.

Been using Nord VPN since early 2020. It has been pretty solid i would recommend it especially when you can get a cashback deal, i got a 3 year deal for like 20 bucks! Although i have had recent issues with split tunneling on my Plex Server… :(
I've used pia for years now due to good annual deals.. people say these days it's not as good as it used to be, but it's fine for me
