Black Friday Regrets Now You Have Seen The Boxing Day Sales

What do you regret buying during the black Friday sales now that you have seen the Boxing Day ones?

For me, I bought a mattress 50% off with 17% cashback on Black Friday, but now it is 55% with 20% cashback. Would have saved $500 :(

You bought a ~$10k mattress?? (10s mental maths)
(Not that much diff between cashback on 17% of a 50% item to a 20% of a 45% item)

    • Only $9299 :P

Close enough for drunk boxing day mental maths :)

        What a donkey

        • Barley Straw?

      • Dude! What sort of back issues you got?

Go to making mattresses… They'll do you a top end mattress for less than half of that price.

Haha … 10K mattress … I would not sleep anymore.

I keep my money under my mattress, I don't spend it all on one!

    • +3

The 20%, which I assumed to be from Shopback, is not guaranteed looking at the forum comments.

This thread needs more conversation exclusively about why anyone would pay 9.3k for a mattress and worry they missed out on an extra $500 off.
Even $8800 for a mattress is still nuts 😂

      • After discount and cashback, I think it came to about 3900, but would have been 3400 if I waited.

I haven't seen one amazing deal this Boxing Day. Not sure if it is just me - but I did not buy anything. Must be the shortage in "everything" and prices going up. Not looking forward to 2022.

I haven't seen one amazing deal this Boxing Da

Yea I'd agree… out of the 300+ spam mails I've had in 3 days, theres nothing I cant live without…

I agree some Catch stuff was well priced … but so low stock and sold out fast that it feels like they just wanted coverage on this forum

  • EOFY ftw.

  • Pretty dissapointing so far tbh.
Havent bought anything. Nothing on my Amazon wishlist (Amazon AU, US and UK items) went on sale.
I actually regretted holding off buying some items in the few weeks leading to today (all cheaper then than Boxing Day prices).

  • Bought something that I was intending to buy discount or not a few weeks ago, went back in the stores insta posts and saw they had a Boxing Day sale last year so waited out for it. Didn’t buy anything that I hadn’t intended on buying before today, that’s a success in my books.

Black Friday deals were better, so no regrets here.

Bought nothing. Not much of interest has come up. I didn't buy much at BF either but my CC price protection got a bit of a workout back then.

  • nothing good.

with most items costing retailers at least 10-25% more, they're not really passing on many discounts, nor are able to.

  • Technically some clothes but knowing my luck had I waited, my size would have sold out. It's the risk you take.

  • Happened to me last year, but with a sofa set. Boxing Day sale had an extra 5% off.

I just asked the store for the difference as a refund and they gave it.

100% saving so far as kept away from the sales sites!

    No regrets. Relief, actually.

On black friday, I pulled the trigger on a lot of things I'd been intending to buy, but did wonder if I should've waited until boxing day. Seeing as boxing day sales were absolute wet fart this year, I'm definitely glad I didn't wait. No good game deals, stuff-all cashback deals - a real nothing day.

  • I bought more on Black Friday, with better deals, only 1 thing I bought during boxing day sales, was because I procrastinated too long on BF and then the sale was over, no longer discounted.

  • Bought a stack of essential oils 50% off for BF now 15 to 20% off for Boxing Day.
So far not seen any real bargains (50%off plus free shipping) in anything I'm interested in.

Curious about what was so special about the mattress to warrant that price????
