PSP 1000/2000

Hey guys,

Thought it'd be a good opportunity to buy an original PSP now that the Vita has come out. Where would you guys buy from? I'm considering picking up a PSP-1000 from EB games for $58 and a 8gb Sandisk Pro Duo from MSY for $21. Add $3 for a cheap case and that's $82 for a full PSP setup (ignoring the cost of games as I will probably get most "online" tbh). What do you guys think about that? Any suggestions? Am I paying too much for an outdated machine?

Thanks!

  • Hi Try mighty ape for games they have a sale today till 7pm tonight

  • The only thing I don't like about it is you're paying to get into Sony's clutches. Other than that, I see EBGames has the PSP-3000 used for $92. And I can't find the price you're quoting for the 1000.

But come on, it's Sony. Rootkits. Hacked websites. Locking stuff down so that you don't actually own the games you play.

  • I would advise against getting a PSP1000. It's much heavier than the other PSPs and it's thick like a brick.
I hurt my wrist playing on one until I swapped to a 2000.

And personally, for handheld devices like these (and phones) I would go for a new one. You don't know what these people have done with theirs.
But if you were going to get a preowned one from EB games anyway, a quick search shows that you can get a Slim + some games for $85. You could then sell off the games.
