260

Greetings friends/enemies.

I believe Myer has 15% off starting tomorrow on Ruark and I believe I saw 20% off Bose and a few other half decent promos that I can't remember.

Anwyays as the promo signs were up today I managed to get the 15% off.

Ruark MR1 MK2 speakers $594.15

Walnut

Grey

They didn't have any on display. However I got the grey and slightly regret it as I think the walnut probably looks better. But hey walnut doesn't fit every setting.

I can't really comment on the quality of the speakers as I haven't had them long enough but lots of reviews on the internet seem favourable.

Don't forget to use some discounted gift cards or cash rewards/ shop back if the sale goes online

  • Thanks officer

The auto on/off feature alone has me sold over the cheaper Edifiers that frequently pop up on amazon on sale.

    • That was one of my prerequisites since I'll be using these in Bluetooth. So far so good. Turns off after 5 mins.

Just leave my edifier on all the time haha. Super efficient and no crackling or popping. Although same price as these.

    • Thats a nice feature to have but cant you just connect a wifi power socket? You can activate that by phone before you play music.

He is making us spend money by giving us discount.

Definitely our friend and the enemy of our finance minister.

  • Noob question: do these need an amp? Or can I connect straight to a computer?

  • I've had these for about 3 years - got them because they won the whathifi awards for multiple years in a row. They sound incredible, balanced punchy, clear. Worth it

  • These speakers look awesome and are highly reviewed. Anyone has more info on Myers speakers sale?

One of the reviewers said they cried first time they listened to it! Not sure if I should buy it or not.

    It's MYER….

  • They look like the perfect computer speakers with the exception of a USB input. Without a USB input they become a hassle to use as computer speakers.

    • Toslink.

      • But laptops don't have toslink ports. So you'd need a device in between to convert from usb to toslink? The devices that I see for that online seem A) fairly pricey ($40+) and B) questionable as to whether they would cause any sort of degradation?

        • Ah laptop fair enough. A USB to TOSLINK adapter should be pretty clean though as there's no analog involved.

  • Thank you. Ordered a walnut pair!

How do these compare to similarly priced edifier(something like S2000MKIII) sound quality wise?
