    Hand scooped icecream.

Wow, what a time to be alive.

Ps their food is ordinary as.
They are the "Masters" to McDonalds and HJ's "Bunnings"

    • Such a shame, USA Carl Jr is the superior national chain.

Ebeen better with the Mexican restaurant added in many stores.

    • Wait, so you’re saying Carl’s Jr. is superior? Because Masters was better than Bunnings. The staff were more helpful, the staff were more knowledgeable, and they had heaps of items that previously couldn’t be found at a B&M store that was open on the weekend.

I'm saying they, like Masters, will be bankrupt (in Australia) in the not too distant future because despite what you say about Masters- they had no substantial point of difference against an established competitor.

All Masters had was tiny little differences (like the ones you listed), that most hardware customers didn't care about.

People voted with their feet and stayed with the incumbent.

Same with this mob, their business is slinging cheap, fast burgers and chips to the masses.

Their food, prices and service aren't (in any substantive way) any different to established competitors- all they have is bollocks differentiators like 'hand scooped icecream'.

Contrast this with Aldi entering the supermarket market- they did it beautifully by setting themselves apart from coles and woolies with genuinely substantive differences- eg, regional locations, 'big buys', pallets instead of shelves etc.

Carls Jr is doomed- you better get your fix while you still can mate.

  • I tried Carl's jnr near mine as it just opened, its menu is too large and confusing?

The drink packaging couldn't even sustain the weight of the drinks?

Seems like they rebadged or use the same supplier as HJs

I'd probably never go back tbh. Need a recommendation on what theyre known for.

For reference, at HJs i get a bacon deluxe, at Maccas it's a big Mac is chicken burger

    • Sames - went once, got whatever the flagship looking burger was and it tasted exactly like a Whopper.

      • Same here, ordered their fanciest thing, and was like "meh" nothing special - never went back

Try the chicken Hawaiian chicken burger.

Also Try HJ's new Chicken burger, we are living in a new chicken renaissance

  • Richman's hungry jacks

got 3 within a 10-15 minute drive of me. Only ever been once. Might take advantage of these deals, particularly the chilli cheese fries as Carls Jnr is now the closest fast food to me

Well, they have massive presence in the Great Sydney area - one little, blink and you miss it shop in Wetherill Park. Been there once. Appears that they want to pull the Chivas Regal trick, meaning up the price and customers will think that they are buying something special. I disagree with guys saying that it is just a rebranded HJs, it is not bad, but definitely, the restaurant pricing for a fast food joint feed doesn't work for me.

  • FYI:
Carl's Jr is new to Australia but has been around a long time!
The 'founded' timeline: McDonald's on May 15, 1940, Carl’s Jr on July 17, 1941 (1946 introduced burgers) and then, July 23, 1953 Burger King (our HJ’s).
Carl's Jr burgers are 'chargrilled', unlike HJ's 'flamegrilled'.

Carl's Jr has been in Australia since 2016. Please stop adding this outdated info-advert in your posts going forward.
