$239.95? Rookie numbers, we can get it higher!

  • +4

Wow! Masks, hand sanitizer and now RAT. Can anyone smell a RAT?

  • WAS AUD$320.00
    SAVE $80.05

    What a discount!

    • +2

Pfft, it's never been $320. Costco sold this same box for $179.

  • +7

This is insane seeing an essential item posted as a bargain due to price gouging and lack of availability.

As the situation gets worse, what are the odds of a backflip from Scotty?

    • +5

what are the odds of a backflip from Scotty?

      Gerry Harvey said no

      • +3

Actually, Pharmacy Guild said No in this case.

        • +1

Harvey Norman is selling RAT kits, so it is still Gerry says no.

        • Scomo: let’s just say the pharmacy guild’s argument moved me…

          (TO A BIGGER HOUSE!)

    • Hopefully things are getting better in the next few weeks. Feels like the toilet paper of 2022. With supply and demand should get more stock shortly and prices will come down.

  • +1

we testin the whole street or smth?

  • +6

Let’s see what the toothless tiger the ACCC does about this

    • +2

Crystal ball says they do nothing

‘ we’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas’

  • +6

Bought a box of these at Costco for $179.95 - Surely they could do better!

  • +1

$12 per test is quite pricey when compared to what else has been available - not a bargain

    • +2

Should be closer to $5. If not less.

  • +4

This is the price point per unit you'd pay for a 2 pack. No deal!

  • Delivery date?

  • +1

Why bother test when Dominic and Health Minister say we are all going to get COVID.

    • -1

So you know if you've got it and don't spread it faster ) to keep it management for hospitals. To remind people to vaccinations and boosters. Etc

I don't get why people are bitching about being told the truth about being exposed/infected. The Queensland health Officer said the same ("“all of us are going to be exposed”). Immunologists have been saying the same.

      • +1

Perhaps because then need to self isolate and tests are getting so backlogged resulting in people instead of waiting 48hrs for tests they are waiting almost 7 days for tests? And in the end you become negative.

Also if 90% of the public are double vaxxed why then are we taking care about self isolation so that that 9% anti-vaxxers are safer ? (1% medically can't have it so that is fair enough).

    • +1

So that we can protect the vulnerable who are old, too young to get vaxxed, immune-compromised people, etc.

  • Price gouge

  • +2

feel free to name & shame to the toothless tiger ACCC per https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/media-statement-on-pri…

  • I’m not sure whether we can solely blame this reseller or whether the price gouging happens further up the chain as well, at the distributor/vendor level.

I got (was lucky enough to get) 20x RAT’s from Costco on Christmas Eve (Which was not long ago) for $150. To see 20x published on OzBargain for $90 more is simply disappointing.

  • -2

I got a PCR test for free. This is not a bargain

  • +2

someone's making bank from this rapid test frenzy!

  • +2

Not a deal at that price per unit. Surely a made up discount.

  • +1

a company that sells bathroom taps & vanities now selling RAT tests, and inflated prices

for that reason its a neg from me

  • +4

    Multiple issues with this deal.
Price gouging is not a bargain.

  • "Insert the sterile swab and rotate around all sides of both nostrils approx 10 times for about 15 seconds. The sterile swab should be inserted about 2-3 cm into the nostril, parallel to the palate until resistance is met and turbinates "

    • from the instruction manual on the TGA website.

This should be classed as a torture device !! LOL.

(I got my saliva based RATs from Costco in November well before the mania started. Ironically enough, the same place where I get my toilet paper)

  • +1

deal will be redundant when the tests are made for free shortly

  • Washing accessories?

  • -1

There isn't some kind of invisible price floor of $10 for these. Do better, OP….
