This a Covid test for Cats ? im confused from the Title and the description

    • Didn't have time to fill out the description lol.

But to answer your question, no it is for humans.

    • +3

      Meow meow, purr purr. Scratch.

  • +1

Ordered two packs - $9.6 per test, but how accurate is this brand?

    • +1

TGA states very high accuracy. With that said, these tests are a bit of a hit and miss if you're taking them when not symptomatic.

    • +1
    • +3

Approved by the TGA and classified as a - "Very high sensitivity - clinical sensitivity greater than 95% PP"

      Not Purr-fect but pretty good

Damn you CarbonTwelve - you beat me to the post while I was trying to think up my dad joke

    • +2

This is very anecdotal but I did one of these on day 1 of symptoms (holy smokes not nice symptoms) and got negative. Did a Roche test the day after, clear positive.

Haven't tried again but if I get a negative on my day 7 I'm gonna be double checking with a Roche kit before heading to Bunnings.

      • I'd be double checking with a PCR

        • +1

Oh, it's covid. The Roche test was a clear line and if this isn't covid, it's a flu from hell.

But I got a PCR because it's a reportable disease and I am a good citizen. They sure made me work for it, though.

          • @krunchymoses: I meant in circumstances like these, once you hit a positive RAT result, you should double check with a PCR ASAP. Not waiting until day 7 and then potentially heading to Bunnings.

But it's good to know that you've double checked with a PCR already.

            • +3

@Trance N Dance: "PCR ASAP" is an oxymoron.

PCR confirmation is no longer required for RAT positive as per national cabinet today.

    • I recommend swabbing your throat first then your nose, even though this is a nasal kit.

        Are you a medical professional?

  • +1

    Finally got some thanks.
Don’t bother trying to apply the $10 off for these

    • +2

You do get shopback though. ~5% adds up pretty quickly given how expensive these are…

      • I got it with 12% cashback a few days ago

        • +1

Yeah I might’ve tried, but honestly they disappear so quickly I just wanted to get in… at least I had an account this time

    • +1

      Fixed now.

        BRING BACK THE MEOW!!!
Without it my bad joke above just does not work

  • But the 7 pack is so much better than if they were in stock :p

  • Showing sold out for me

    It's like trying to get a PS5 :)

    • It does rhyme with the PCR test.

      • Uh, no it doesn't. PS5 is best rhymes with PCR test.

Note that my order from 28 December has yet to ship.

    • Ditto on that - I'm still waiting from then as well. Good to have the order in, but would be nice to see the stock moving by now!

    • My Houghs ordered the day prior have already arrived.

    • That's disappointing. I ordered 2SAN on 29 Dec, received an "order shipped" and tracking number email on 1 Jan, then an AusPost email yesterday saying delivery due tomorrow.

    • Same here. Ordered 30 December and it explicitly stated orders would ship 4 Jan, but nothing.

    • FYI my order from the 28th of these shipped on 31st and I got them on Tuesday.

    • Mine have now shipped, and a separate order my spouse made arrived today.

    • Same they’re slow.

    • Also waiting on an order from the 29th that was said to ship on 4 Jan. pretty disappointed they are restocking the site and promising others tests while others who ordered earlier are not getting any progress on their shipment. Will be following up soon and will update if anyone else is in the same boat and interested.

  • Thanks, got some.

  • Out of Stock

  • Thanks got 2..that was quick!

  • +1

Yeah, ordered mine in early December - still waiting for shipment.

This is Toilet Paper and Hand Sanitizer all over… people panic buying something that will be available in masses in few weeks. If it's negative, it could be false negative hence you should get tested if have symptoms, if it's positive, you have to get PRC tested regardless! Why waste money and overpay out of panic?!

    • +3

If it’s negative, at least it provides some reassurance. I read to swab your throat as well to detect omicron.

      • +1

yeah a doctor told me that to avoid a false positive it is best to also swap the throat also

    • +2

Having had two as I had flu symptoms and had a negative it provides piece of mind and I didn't have to queue for hours for a PCR and also waste their time.

    • +2

It's not panic buying when you actually need them for many reasons.

      • +1

        Such as?

        • +1

Being able to continue to work if there are positive cases in your work place, being told to get them to lower your isolation time..

  • Gone so quick!

  • -1

    Are these the new PS5?
Wonder how many I can flip in eBay 🤔

    • +2

These are gonna be like masks last year, everyone and their dog will be selling them soon.

    • +7

Don’t try to profit on health supplies, that’s just wrong.

      • +1

I would never do that, absolutely agree with you 🙂

      • +4

        Gerry has left the chat.

    • +1

None. eBay is all over it (well people are - reporting it).

  • Time to freak out and panic buy test kits like money grows on trees.

  • Plenty at pharmacy for less in Auburn NSW. $20 each though

    • +11

Report those price gouging twats to ACCC.

      • -1

Is it really price gouging when other things they sell are prices higher than CW?

        • +1

          Still is gouging

        • +1

if not price gouging, maybe false advertising. "Pharmacy for More" may be more truthful?

Locally, the "Pharmacy for Less" had single packs for $16.99, but I get the feeling they are probably breaking up bigger packs and selling them as singles. Overheard them asking someone how many copies of the instructions they needed which was a bit of a giveaway.

    • Haha, same chain in Bankstown doing the exact same thing. Only pharmacy in the area with any stock left.

  • -3

Prime minister just announced that the tests will be free for everyone!!! Don’t pay one cent!

    • +3

Only if you are a low income earner or pensioner

  • Thanks, OP. Just bought 500. Now off to Flinders St to flog 'em.

  • Our of stock!! That really gets up my nose!!

  • Just as an FYI, orders from this deal may be shipped sooner rather than later!
I bought these on 31/12/21 and was informed at the time of purchase they would ship from 9/1/22, and they arrived today.

    Good luck :)

    • So they never even told you they shipped? Just turned up?

      • Got despatch email around 1am this morning. Delivered by midday today. I'm in Sydney and pretty sure the stock was in Sydney too.

        • +1

I suppose it's express shipping. Fingers crossed for me then. Thanks for info!

  • I honestly don't know why you'd buy this unless you need it for work.

With how much tax Australians pay the government should be handing these out for free.

Locally they are refusing testing because they don't have the facilities and not even reporting contact locations..

Its just toilet paper all over again 😂

    • they are tax deductable

  • Mine arrived today in Melb (orderer 5th)
