eufy Spotlight Cam 2K Solar Security Camera $296 + Delivery @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

60

One of the newer cameras from Eufy. Last deal was a few months back at a few dollars more, however delivery to metro areas is $8.

Been looking at getting one so keen to hear any feedback from people who have one. Amazon reviews seems to have some vocal people with issues, however updates seems to have fixed it, maybe?

  • Link not working. Can you screenshot?

  • Was $279 at JB a few weeks ago. Probably best to wait for the next sale at JB or SCA

    • 71% at 5 stars is horrible …?

      • +2

Look at all the latest reviews. All one star. People updated their reviews cos the cameras fail after a month

Bought one from JB as per price above. Installed it yesterday and initial impressions of the camera is that its okay. Pretty solidly built, good features (light, voice, alarm) and the camera quality is decent.

However, app is kinda annoying and connectivity isn't the most stable. Still working through some of the details like notifications and integration with other systems but all in all its been positive experience.

Wouldn't say its the best camera in the world, nor is it a dud. Temper expectations at this price point and it'll do the job for the most part.

YMMV - and I can't speak to the main feature yet which is the solar charging.

    • $350 for a single camera isn't cheap

  • Yeah I got an S40. Had it up for a month and still 100% battery. So far it's been as good as advertised.
Back to this model tho, the app experience should be the same. App isnt amazing, but having used Arlo before I'm not sure any app is. Alerts are slightly delayed. It always seems to miss the extra 1-2 seconds before you want to start recording (not sure how Arlo does it but hopefully a future software update) and the playback controls are pretty crap unless you download and then it's just a normal video.
Overall I'm happy with my setup. I wanted a single camera, no hub and stuck it up pretty high so I never want to charge the battery.
The downside of no hub tho is that if someone does manage to take the camera, that's everything. All the video footage is gone and so is the kit so stick it up high!

    • That's good to hear. I have a few eufy things and I don't mind the app. So if my standards are as it is it sounds like I should be OK.

  • Great cameras if you have strong wifi signal where you gonna hang it and good sunlight.

These cameras seems to have weaker wifi signal compared to their previous models.

Also not best price as Amazon had them for $269 just 2 weeks ago.

  • Annoying thing about this new range is that they dont integrate to the homebase and can't record to it. Basically if someone steals your camera, you also lose the footage.

  • This may require a gutter mount if one wants to stick it up in front of the house so that direct sun lights falls on it .

It's a shame I don't have access to commercial account. I am in desperate need for one of these .
