Was browsing Samsung Partner Store for a TV and spotted the freshly announced S21 FE already up for sale. And no you do not get the Buds2, but I figure some will actually prefer the $200 discount like me. + 50% off Samsung Care and $50 off Accessories.

UPDATE: Bonus $100 for trade-in.

The S21 (regular and plus versions) didnt have curved screens either.

        • Oh that's neat! I didn't know they went back to the 2016 model of phone differentiation. I like that, I really don't like curved screen.

    • Did you miss the part where he said for 549 usd it'd be great, and for 599 it'd be still very good?

In tech, most products are good, at a certain price.

Different markets, different prices, means a bad buy in the US may be great here.

I got an oppo reno 5G, its retail price was ridiculous, but on a very steep discount there was no other deal all year as good, here in NZ

      • Actually the RRP for the FE is the same, taking into account conversion rates.

We are not here to discuss what price the phone would be good at, we are here to discuss the price in which the phone is being sold.

The point, at the end of the day, is that if you spend the time to research and look properly, there are much better options in that price point.

        • That's incorrect. FE is launching at 700usd. That's 1k AUD, much higher than the listed price here. And that's not including tax, which is included here. So the actual value of the FE is closer to 500USD.

To your second point, 800AUD for full flagship spec, and Samsung support is very nice. There's many things you can get in this that you won't get from others, like dex, universal replacement parts prices, and 4 years of software support. Whether that's 350 bucks better than poco f3 is up to your own value.

          • @Wonderfool: You can buy the s21 FE from JBHIFI for $1099. Thats just from a quick google, so like I said originally - same RRP give or take. As for your $500 actual value, dont understand how you got to that point and I dont even see the relevancy - the point I am making is that the price is the same here and in the US.

Secondly - I am not the one saying this, so you will have to argue with MKBHD if you disagree with his opinion, however considering his stature in the industry, I take his opinion in higher regard than most others on the internet, considering he is one of the biggest tech journalists in the world I think his opinion on this phone is worthy of note, and I agree, for that price point there are better options out there.

Building further on why this phone is not really a good choice - the s22 is around the corner, regardless of the deal on this right now its always worth waiting til the next gen releases, which will likely result in a larger price drop than currently on offer.

Ill finish by saying what MKBHD said - if a person walked into a shop with blinders on and bought this phone they will likely love it, however there are better options out there if the research is done.

  • Whoops I should've sold my new 256gb S21 on eBay earlier, nice prices here on the FE editions 👍😝

is that snapdragon version or exynos?

  • Do you have to buy the phone to get 50% off Samsung care and $50 off accessories?

I think the Flip3 5G is a better (and cheaper) option ( trade in required)

  • anyone knows edu pricing for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 128GB?

  • Is there anyway to access this without a partner account? I have edu access in NZ but not in AU so perhaps I could order from there

Just got my flip3 today. Really like this phone so far.

What is the relevance to this deal? Flip phones are awful, inferior cameras, plastic screens with a screen saver that can't be removed, tiny batteries that don't last a day and on top of that these things overheat.

Think of it like an attractive partner. Might not provide the function of others, but god is it good to hold.

Fwiw the phone is great so far.

  • Asking to enter Samsung employee email, is it just me?

    • Not employee email but it asks for the partner email and then just freezes. I can't get back into my account. Eat a bag of dicks Samsung…

I wish Samsung reduced their mobile product lines. There are too many phones competing with each other and also morphing into nearly the same damn phone. They just need a few A and S Series, Fold, Flip and that's it. Not 8434 phones released every week then having to provide software updates for all (If some even get some)

  • Just picked up the 256gb model from Samsung. Managed to price match the 20% discount from the samsung websit and was still eligible for the bonus earbuds. All in all, $879.20.

    • Price match? How? Please share. :)

      • Student discount. Walked in with the samsung price at hand and they agreed to match it.

        • Could you please elaborate a bit further about how you did it?
Did you walk into the Samsung store and got it matched with their Samsung Education Store price? Couldn't seem to find any price match guarantee on Samsung website.
