I'm not sure why websites like yours make it so hard to get delivery pricing. Why do we have to enter all our personal info just to see what it is?…even worse with these guys as it appears to be a fixed price for up to 4 cases of beer!

After forcing you to enter; email address, name, address, phone# it comes up with
    ..

    Australia-Wide
Min $15 Order, Shipping dependent on weight/volume. Max 36kg (approx. 4 cases) $21.95

You should have that info not only in the Ozbargain post description, but also on the shopping cart page. I hate dealing with lazy & questionable websites.

    • Hey mate,

It's not a fixed price. 4 cases is the max you can order. It's calculated by weight and location. Plus certain areas have an additional cost based off what Sendle deems remote. The system needs your address to calculate that.

We use Shopify for our website and Sendle for delivery outside of our Metro-Melb area, we don't store any of your data unless you create a customer account or place an order. I'm not sure what you think is "questionable".

Our National Shipping is what it costs us unfortunately. I'll add the national shipping minimum cost into the post to make it easier for those interested.

      Cheers,

      Liam

The system needs your address to calculate that.

No it doesn't, it just needs a postcode.
Websites of 15+yr have had estimate shipping in the cart. Unlike yours they sell all sort of items with different weight/dimensions.

we shouldn't have to enter all thise details (whether you keep them or not) to get shipping rates. Chuck a shipping calculator in the cart.

You're completely right, it's exploitative, and Shopify/Sendle need to be brought up on it. But it's not this dude's fault, literally every other bargain on here is running on the Shopify stack; they've deliberately designed it this way to harvest user information.

As to BadShepard, while you don't store that info unless they create an account, Shopify does regardless.

@TogTogTogTog: I hate that shopify are trying to normalise this behaviour. It’s total BS.

          • +2

@TogTogTogTog: Fair concern mate, for whatever it's worth, Shopify claim not to use your shipping info outside of providing it to us for the order: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/customers.

Either way it's feedback I'll take on board and see if I can find a postage calculator that plays nice with how our shipping and checkout is set up. Unfortunately a lot of the base stuff in Shopify is very limited, so you end up piling add-ons on top of add-ons. Can sometimes make it a bit tricky to make sure it all works fine.

I agree, OzB really should require the delivery cost to be included in the post. So often it makes a big difference between bargain and not.

      • -2

Fair enough mate, happy to include that info in the post. However, it's still $50 cheaper whether or not there is a shipping cost. Bargain is subjective.

        Cheers,

        Liam

Shipping is generally included in all posts.

Bargains are a mixture of subjective and objective. Subjectively I enjoy beer and drink your stuff, that PB Porter… yum. Objectively shipping is a killer lol

Yes, Same here, expensive delivery means the total price to door is $81.95

More of a local deal really

  • Thanks - ordered - hopefully see you open soon

      Cheers mate! Appreciate the support.

  • Shipping Link appears broken, OP. Just gives me a 404 message.

  • Looks good, but unfortunately delivery is a killer…

    • +1

Buy 2 cases and it’s free. Save more drink more

      • Is it? Where did you see that? Thanks for the heads up.

      • Just checked…this is untrue, $30 shipping on two cases for me in Newcastle, NSW. Free shipping is for Melbourne locals.

        • Free shipping for locals. Free shipping for Melbourne Metro with $100 spend.

        • Hey guys, yep free delivery is only available to our local area and and our select Metro-Melb area (orders over $100) this is because within this area we can deliver directly, whereas any further we need to use a shipping partner. Cheers, Liam

  • These guys do have/use one of the most expensive shipping for beer BUT they also make some of the best beer. For those on the fence due to this cost I suggest you give them a shot, the ones I have tried are really rather good.

    • Thanks mate, appreciate that. Also always happy to give suggestions for where to find our beers nationally. They don't have as wide a selection but some of our beers are at First Choice Liquor, Vintage Cellars, and Dan Murphys. They usually ship bulk to each state and then deliver locally so can give better delivery pricing on the stock they have.

      Cheers, Liam

    • Yep, they’re just around the corner. Although I do miss the raspberry sour they used to have. Perfect on a warm night

  • Ordered a slab and some lovely Gin Fizz Sour, happy to support the local independent brewery's

    • Cheers mate, appreciate the support!

  • Picked up my slab today. Really great drop, especially at this price

    • Thanks mate, great to hear you liked it. Cheers for the support!

  • My order arrived this afternoon, now impatiently waiting for it to cool down to drink
Happy with the speed of the shipping in this current environment
