Ridiculous price for a small lego set

    • It'll be half price in March :)

I think the more concerning question by then would be if there's any stock left. hmm..

CNY sets actually holds up in price quite well ever since release. Some has even gone up in price (especially the original released sets: Dinner & Dragon Dance).

        • +1

Agree, but 80101 & 80102 were also very limited releases. I remember having to put my name down at a list at DJ after seeing the preview video and it was a set that I said to myself I had to own.

    • 1,066 pcs - about the middle with the other CNY sets which range from 800~1,600 and have similar RRP?

the God of Wealth figure worths that price already. ;)

Why does EVERY Chinese related product - in this instance, created by a Danish company to celebrate Chinese culture have anything to do with Communism Party of China and putting in snark remarks this way? If you are attacking the Chinese Government, then do so when there are products related to that. This is just downright racism these days on Ozbargain here when this is a product that celebrates Chinese traditions - whether you like their government or not.

Because in their simple bigoted mind everything is 1s and 0s. They forget the millions of chinese diaspora around the world celebrating this a well.

I'm no fan of the CCP but yeah it's annoying.

It doesn't seem as impressive as 80107 Spring Lantern Festival from 2021, but my partner wanted it for the warm fuzzies. Bought one.

    • +2

Totally with your partner about the warm fuzzies. The scenes remind me of growing up in Malaysia and celebrating the Lunar New Year with family. It helps since I haven't seen them in over 2 years thanks to the pandemic.

      • Damn. I bet you miss the food.

      • I haven't been back since Mum's passed. God Malaysia seems soo daunting now. I want to but I don't. Good luck getting back brother.

Myer Chadstone has both 80108/9 in stock in store at RRP price. Ask for a price match.

    • +1

Could also try price match DJs as they have 20% off LEGO if they won't price-match Amazon (such as Amazon not having any bricks and mortar stores)

Do the Uighurs also celebrate the new year in their prison camps?
