  • Thanks OP.
If anyone tired to redeem, can you let me know if you need to be a member before you purchase the first $50? I want to check this out at the shop this weekend and if I purchase $50 then I will join, want to avoid spam!
    Cheers guys.

    • You can always unsubscribe

    • They are actually not too bad, spamwise….. I get maybe one email every week or so…..

    • The below comes up after you sign up -

NOTE: You will only be able to use your Frequent Shopper details in store 2 business days AFTER you have signed up.

  • Awesome deal! Thanks OP.

  • this is like (extra) 50% off

    • -1

not really.. 50% off results in more money saved.. with this you're forced to spend more money plus whilst it might seem like you're getting $50, to them the voucher might be worth 10..

      • technically it's 50% off.

        • no, technically it is up to 50% off. The only way to be 50% off is if you spend exactly $50 in the first instance, apply for the $50 voucher, then spend exactly the value of the voucher ($50) in June.

I haven't seen if there are any conditions to this offer so I am assuming not. If the voucher can't be fully spent without some condition like (a minimum spend) then it may actually be impossible to achieve 50%.

      • as Judy pointed out, it IS 50% off, even though i have no any interest.

you pay $50 for $100 value garments, etc.

        • not 50% off, up to 50% off, see above.

  • that's cool, what 4 day special is on this week anyone know?

lol, downvoted by Rivers employee accounts @ OzBargain.

Their stuff is not worth the money though, I agree.

xit - hell you oughta be a moderator, you know a hell of a lot more than we do. Rivers employees? Considering as I mod I can see who actally voted giggles down, I am really surprised that some of these work at Rivers.

But then since you KNOW I guess I must be wrong. LOL

Now can you give me the winner in race 5 at Flemington this weekend???

They do have a lot of crap, but some of their stuff is good.

I bought a pair of shoes from them that lasted me almost a year and got me a few compliments, I was very happy with that purchase. It's pretty hard to go wrong with printed t-shirts too, as long as you can find a design you like.

say what you like about china but look at the shirt you're wearing now. Or pants. Or undies. Or socks. Or shoes. Go on, i'll wait.

      • Oh no, I checked…. and failed :(

100x $1.00 black socks coming my way!

Does anyone know what to enter at "If you are a member of the Rivers Frequent Shopper Program, please enter the Frequent Shopper number shown on your Frequent Shopper Card.
Do NOT enter a reference you have created online."

I didn't get a Frequent Shopper number when I signed up. Checked junk email too and nothing..

    • When I signed up last promo, I didn't get a frequent shopper number straight away either. I had to wait until I received my membership card in the mail. I was still able to claim my purchase later once I received my number though.

Have any of the anti-rivers actually shopped at rivers? It's not that bad…

    • yes, and yes it is.

It all depends on your definition of quality. If cheap means quick to the bin and that is your level of satisfaction then they are the store for you.

      • Has any one been to the DogHouse their Kids brand. Shoes are half price at factory outlets. So get 2 pairs for 8 dollars. Stocked up and got voucher.

is online shopping qualified for the voucher? i know the free voucher cannot be used to shop online, but can the initial $50 purchase be made online?

    • thats what I wanna know too…..hmmmmmm

      • ok….I rang Rivers and the initial purchase MUST be instore and NOT online…
        hiho hiho…its off to Rivers I go….
        :)

TBH rivers is pretty avg, it has gone down in standard lately - but this is an excellent deal nonetheless

I find Rivers is really good for kids shoes. Very affordable.

    • I get their shoes all the times for my kids. I think they are pretty darn good shoes. Not worth their 'original retail price' but generally better quality than target/kmart and cheaper as well (when on sale which is often). The one or two I've had a problem with, I've taken them back for a refund. I wear their sneakers too and most are really comfy. Not a fan of their clothes though - don't know about quality, but I just don't like the styles.

    :)

  • used my $50 voucher today, so you don't have to wait until June.
Also, if you spend more than $40 you'll get your underspend as cash (i.e. $50 voucher = $41 items + $9 cash change)
