Wow we have a rare EB Games one :)

    • Both Xbox and eb, makes it even better.

  • Does this mean we can get up to 5 x 2000 points per fly buys?

    • Yes, you can earn a maximum of 10,000 bonus Flybuys points per Flybuys account during this deal.

      • Can we buy all 5 in one transaction and earn the Max points?

        • +1

It doesn’t matter whether you buy all five in one transaction or more than one transaction, you’ll still get your 10,000 bonus Flybuys points either way.

    • Isn't the 5xpoints deal valid till 11th Jan and this deal starts on the 12th?

      • You’re referring to a separate Flybuys bonus points promotion. Purchases of gift cards are always from all bonus points promotions excluding any bonus points promotions specifically advertised for the gift card, so the 5x points promotion you’re referring to won’t apply to the gift cards in this deal anyway.

The commenter was simply confirming whether you could earn 5 lots of 2000 Flybuys bonus points for the gift cards in this gift card deal.

        • +1

          Awesome..being a ozbargainer I was getting excited 😜 Let those points flowing😊

  • are these the gift cards that are just EFTPOS cards?

      Swap Entertainment

The Swap Entertainment gift card is a digital gift card that you redeem on the Swap website for a digital gift card from a participating retailer.

      Ultimate Eats

The Ultimate Eats gift card is Visa gift card that can be used at participating retailers. However, you’ll need to check the Ultimate gift card website to see how you can redeem the Visa gift card.

The Ultimate Eats gift card was previously sold as an EFTPOS gift card. This started being phased out around October 2021, but there may be some Coles supermarkets that are still selling these older gift cards. I haven’t spotted any at Coles supermarkets in the last couple of weeks, but I thought I’d include it.

If you are wondering how to spot the difference between the older EFTPOS and newer Visa gift cards, in this picture, the card on the left is the EFTPOS version, and the card on the right is the Visa version.

The Restaurant Choice and Gourmet Traveler Restaurant

My understanding is these are EFTPOS gift cards that can only be used at participating restaurants.

      • hmm, something to think about.

Can swap card be used to buy EB games gift cards via store?

    • +1

Why would you do that, you can swap to eb gift card straightaway from swap website

      • +1

Some people like to complicate things

  • Nice 👍😁

  • -1

Have to actually go into Coles though………..

    • +2

Can you be a good lad and stack some shelves whilst your there? The dunny paper/paper towel aisle has been looted in ours.

What did we learn in 2020
        - 'Just in time' inventory control doesn't work in a pandemic
What did we do in 2021
        - Continue on with exactly the same inventory practices.

        • +2

This is 2022 and we still haven't learnt anything 😂

        • Not so simple.you think hundreds of businesses can build extra storage space etc to hold all raw materials then finished goods to supply these increases…
There is pallet shortages, staff shortages in all related to making a shipping items due to isolation, import delays etc etc.
If people didn't buy up excess to normal consumption, would this be happening.

          • @taoz: No, not so simple. I do think Coles and Woolies could keep a few extra boxes of pasta and toilet paper on hand in anticipation of transport delays though. And if you were paying attention the shortages are because of staff shortages, shortages that should have easily been foreseen. So really the clever people would have bought a bit extra and that would just make them smarter than the people planning our very essential grocery distribution.

            • -2

@tonka: You must have missed my staff shortages mention. Anyway those effect not just Coles and Woolworths, there suppliers, the supplier raw material supplier etc, there transport.

Sounds like you should get a job at Coles or Woolworths if you would foreseen all these challenges and be able to secure all labour available in the market for your business and all its suppliers.

              • @taoz: Did you come here to fight? Try elsewhere I couldn't be bothered.

                • @tonka: I'm giving you a different view. That is all, so wont waste either time going any further.

I know people who work in the types of companies your referring to. I think they have done a great job with what has been dealt to them.

                  • @taoz: I discuss these issues everyday with people employed by them them in logistics, they are working way too hard and they agree with me. And I could have gone and worked for them but I already have a job to do.

        • +2

They haven't transitionrd to Just In Case, inventory

  • Time to stack swap card for buying consoles at EB Games.

    • Ps5 pro? Or Xbox Series XL? LOL

      • Xbox Series XL

It's already as big as a fridge, we don't need an extra large variant

  • The only way I have found to get a Menulog giftcard at a decent discount.

    • But with the introduction of service fees…

      • +1

Thought it was something new. I pickup all my orders.
Main serve of butter chicken and rice (feeds 2) now costs a bit over $7, with the daily $6 discount

        • I guess for pickup this is a good deal then :)

          • +1

@Chocobros: Especially when the restaurant gives an auto 20% off as well.
            $3.80 + $6.00 + $1.70 off……bargain!
Noting, MenuLog price is same as takeaway/eatin price for my local.

            • @Coops1: Enjoy it while you can- not many places do same price on food apps due to the deep commissions taken.

              • @Craze: been like that for 12+ months for me……YMMV as we know. But its not always more expensive

    • Can gift card combine with daily coupon code on Menulog?

      • +1

Presume it is account credit, applied as payment method, codes are separate.

    • +1

These cards aren’t worth it for Menulog because you can’t actually redeem them for account credit like you can with Deliveroo. On Menulog they’re simply a payment method like any other card and since you can’t do split payments online you’re inevitably left with a small balance on each card.

      • Agree it can be a hassle- however with UE it's also available at chains like Nando's etc so you should be able to do split payments to use up the card balance.

        • Yeah, only issues is after starting Menulog on this card, Coles have sold out in 3 stores I have been to. So i think I will pass this time.

  • +1

If my memory is correct, you can only redeem one e-gift card when you purchase something on EB Games website. For some reason EB Games website will only accepts 1 e-gift card at the payment step. So any remaining amount that's not covered by the e-gift card will need to paid using a different payment method.

EB Games instore has no limit on using e-gift cards.

  • +1

Yea still waiting for the flybuys points on the ebay and Amazon cards. Just like the wait there was for Apple cards points.

Make sure you keep your receipts!!!!!

    • +1

      Was this a widespread problem?

      • For me they appeared in activity after 2 but didn't show on balance until about 5 days.

    • i got the points for ebay cards within 48hrs

    • I trust Flybuys, believe me you will get the points.

  • -1

    What worth buying from EB?

    • Console. At least they don't charge $10 extra.

  • +1

Am curious how do you get to see the catalogue in advance? Online link?

  • Is this popular? I got the last 5 in my local coles. Normally for previous deal, there is always heaps on Wednesday morning around 9.

  • Is Ultimate Eats Gift Card the Ultimate Scam? You buy a $50 card. You can only buy stuff where they will let you split purchases to $50. Otherwise you'll never use the balance.

Supposedly you can go to https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/Choose and change to a store voucher. So you do. The ONLY card you can do is deliveroo.

So basically of all the stores Ben & Jerry's, Boost Juice, Chatime, Grill'd, Hogs, Mad Mex, Menulog, Nando's, Ribs & Burgers, San Churro, Schnitz, Sushi Hub you cannot use the full value of your card other than at Deliveroo.

Not to mention spending 10min trying to type in all that pw etc.

    • I haven't tried personally, but would you not be able to request split payment at physical stores and use up the balance of the UE card?

      • maybe. that means a number of the listed stores are actually useless.
We got the card based on having a few of the stores around, but not all.

I can imagine a few of these stores won't have time/facilities to bother with split payments. The drinks & sushi ones. Who know s the rest

        • Even so, it's a bit much saying the card is a scam. It isn't as the card is perfectly valid to use, it is just a hassle to track balance and possibly left over with a small amount that you will need to find a place to be able to finish using up the full value.

I have previously bought $30 UE cards and managed to use up full value through Sushi Hub ($10 each purchase, 3 times).

          • @Craze: bait n switch then?

          • @Craze: Just tried to use the card on deliveroo. Wouldn't work. No idea why, had to go thru the exchange to a voucher to use. It's a mess.
            Brand new $50 card

            • @furyou: Thanks for letting us know- have not tried on deliveroo so good to know!

            • +1

@furyou: Did you try using the expiry date 12/29? If you did, reach out to Deliveroo and ask them to explain why the card was declined.

              • @WookieMonster: Yes that's what I did. Wouldn't take it, no reason for error. So I just converted it.

                • @furyou: Fair enough.

It sounds like one of three scenarios:

                  • Deliveroo accept Ultimate gift cards or Celebration gift cards, but they haven’t correctly configured their systems to automatically accept Ultimate gift cards or Celebration gift cards. The BIN for these gift cards is usually for a Visa card issued in Russia, so their systems may be denying it, because their systems don’t realise this is a Visa gift card issued in Australia.

                  • Deliveroo doesn’t accept Ultimate gift cards or Celebration gift cards.

                  • Heritage Bank (the issuer of the Ultimate gift cards and Celebration gift cards) is not recognising these payment attempts as coming from a participating merchant (i.e. Deliveroo).

You’re far from the only person having problem with these kinds of gift cards at Deliveroo, so hopefully someone can reach out to Deliveroo (and Heritage Bank) and get this sorted out.

(You can see why I avoid the Ultimate Eats gift cards.)

                  • +1

@WookieMonster: yeah I'm surely avoiding these in future. I wish there was a wiki - "gotchas for egifts"
Imagine getting this as a gift!

using this at chatime for sugar water is working as advertised, might get a heart attack drinking so much sugar.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Thx, i was looking for the expiry date to use the eats card on menu log!!

          • @Craze: You nedd to be on top of it ti get the full value.😜

        • It's definitely one of the hardest Ultimate gift card to use. First time users who buy the Eats gift card to use online e.g. for Menulog will always have to learn the hard way that in reality they won't actually be able spend the full value of the gift card at Menulog (unless they somehow managed to order something that's exactly the full amount which is very rare). Menulog won't allow split payment so it means there'll be a few dollars leftover on the gift card that will need to be a in-store at a different vendor that does allow split payment…

          • @Alinnia: also seems deliveroo is consistently more exp than Menulog for the same thing. Making the 'discount' null.
not sure if it's just the places i use.

  • Hi I'm wondering if I can use this for a $100 purchase in ebgames if I buy 2. Do they accept the swapped egift cards in eb games store?

    • Yes. Once you swap the gift card to eb ones, you are good to use as many as you want instore.

  • +1

    essentially 16.67% off?

  • Can I ask a stupid question. How do you use the cards with Deliveroo? I get an error message when I try adding the card to Google Pay and paying that way.
