        • Are you on a diet? Nobody goes to Aldi just to buy one item.

          • -1

@WatchNerd: The dictionary defines 'diet' as:

"the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats."

            so, by that definition, yes…

        • +10

Judging by the amount of time you spend on here your time isn't worth that much anyways. Just head in-store.

            I doubt you a really a judge.

@[Deactivated]: This has got to be a contender for comment of the year. I'm so glad that people are finally clapping back to jv's spam commentary.

If only there was some sort of global computer network with a simple search facility you could use to look it up instead of endlessly whining about it

          • +1

            @GrueHunter:

            endlessly whining about it

If it bothers you that much, why don't you create one?

        • +1

They probably want to make comparisons a little more difficult. You make a good point.

      • In a 2point font

    • Pretty sure coles and woolies have it on their sites as they are set up for online shopping and have to display the ingredients list for this purpose whereas Aldi don't do online shopping for groceries so don't have the same obligation

      • +1

whereas Aldi don't do online shopping for groceries so don't have the same obligation

They are still advertising it for sale, so have an obligation to show the ingredients they are selling. Some people have allergies too…

Many of the manufacturer sites show products with ingredients and nutritional info listed, yet do not sell direct from their sites.

        • +2

Since Aldi does not sell them from their website you will have an opportunity to read it from actual package before deciding whether you want pay for it or not.

          • @[Deactivated]: Would like to know before wasting time to go the store…

At least with the main brands, we can go to the manufacturer's website to get the details.

Aldi has an obligation to publish this information.

            • +2

              @jv:

              obligation
              citation of obligation required

Anything that distracts you from posting on this site is a good thing.

              • @[Deactivated]: You must be a philosopher.

                • @jv: I'm not.

                  • @[Deactivated]:

                    obligation
                    citation of obligation required

            • @jv: while I do think it would be nice if they supplied this information on line I'm pretty sure under Australian law they have no obligation to supply the information anywhere except on the product

              • @iand: They have an obligation to there customers to list this information.

Another copied set of packaging. If ALDI is so good why not create a separate identity for their products?

  • +1

Rather get sugar free ice creams Denada (sticks) or YoPro @ Coles specials

    • +1

I bought Denada a couple of times when they were slightly discounted, but the damn thing is super expensive. I wish they make it affordable.

      • +1

Denada sticks are on special this week at Coles @ $8.50 for a 3 pack.

        • Yeah, saw that, but I think it's still pricey.

  • Love this ice cream from Aldi,
Coffee Mocha, Belgian Chocolate & the maple nit are my faves.
Who cares what the tub looks like, its what's inside that counts!

  • -2

what's the regular price of these?

  • Thanks, just got cookies and cream

  • How's the vanilla ? Never tried Aldi icecream

    • It's good enough to try but I really wish it was the same recipe as the Coles/Woolies ones which have a bit of a stronger vanilla bean flavour.
Hard to describe so it might be worth testing :)

  • i love the connoisseurs ice cream from coles, tried this one from aldi thinking it would be the same, nope. no good.

    • I prefer Coles brand cookies n cream over connoisseur C&C

  • +1

Tried one of these ALDI ice cream tubs once and it was honestly awful. Does not compare with Connoisseur

  • The Fishcakes are pretty good too.

Made in Scotland though - good/bad/indifferent = your choice.

  • +1

Tastes so bad compared to Connoisseur. Save your money for a half price special!

  • +2

I stopped buying these because the new packaging smells of plastic.

    • I actually know exactly what you're referring to. Still tastes good tho

  • So many varying opinions in this thread……It's great!…..It's crap!……

I will buy a Vanilla Bean tub (safest bet) and go on my journey with low expectations.

    • Vanilla is super nice, very creamy and good flavour.

  • The white chocolate raspberry flavour isn't that great due to the weird texture of the frozen white chocolate pieces.

    • +1

I disagree, I like the flakey chocolate bits ^-^

  • Last time I checked Aldi's ice cream section, nearly everything was out of stock.

    • Aldi has supply chain issues

      • yeah all the Supermarkets do, but it seemed like Aldi's ice cream and also frozen chips had it the worst.

  • try The Sweetporium Co 1lt tubs @ coles when it's half price, peanut butter one was pretty good

  • -1

I scream, you scream, we all scream — FREE THE DJOKER NOW! And give him some ice cream… but please no cheap Aldi crap

  • % milk fat?

    • +1

      Minimum milk fat 14.5%

  • Aldi works of the theory that people in general are stupid and just look at pictures. Which obviously works. Most brands have flashy coloured wrapping.that sucks people in just look at Arnott's biscuits. If Aldi can get producers to package a product without the over inflated markups good luck to them. People are brand influenced not generally taste or value. Otherwise Panadol would be out of business as supermarket equivalents are 100% the same ingredient.

    • +1

If Aldi can get producers to package a product without the over inflated markups good luck to them.

They proved over 15 years in Australia and 50+ years elsewhere that they can.
