    Thanks, got 2

    • No worries! Glad you got some. I should get one before it goes OOS haha

  • Bought one for $53 from Amazon the other day which is delivering today.

  • this is still FAT32 right? A single file can't be larger than 4GB.

      can't you just format it?

      or have i missed something

i once formatted a 32GB Kingston to NTFS, and after a few months usage it died.

          possibly coincidence?

          • +1

            @andresampras: Definitely coincidence

            • @FDA2021: haha i'm a little disappointed. Thought I was going to learn something new about NTFS today.

I always format my drives in exFAT anyway, for mac & windows use

          probably due to omicron.

@chrism238: God damn viruses, they've evolved to digitize themselves before we could!

you can format as FAT (32GB, 4GB file), ext FAT (larger vole and file size) ….. or NTFS ….. MAC can read NTFS but not write to NTFS …. if you have both machines, use extFAT.

    • Change to whatever format you like. exFAT is a great successor to FAT32 but unfortunately not all devices recognize it so check before relying on that.

    • "ExFAT is an inherently less reliable system compared to NTFS or HFS simply because it only has a single index and is much more prone to corruption.""

I'm not expert but found this a while back on some Reddit forums.

I've stuck with NTFS where possible on my storage drives, and occasionally format to ExFAT on the usb when I need to move large files…

Paragon on Mac works well with Seagate hard drives and allows you to write on NTFS (I have no idea why it doesn't work with other drives)…

  • Write speeds for this seem to be around 40Mb/s

I believe these USB 3.2 Patriot drives are faster correct? But they are more expensive.

The Patriot drive doesn't have a USB-C connector. The SanDisk one does.

    now showing $44.79

  • Impressive price!! Just a sidenote, these get burning hot just plugging in idle on my macbook

    • previous deal had a newer metal version on offer ….

    • ooh thanks for that! will definitely keep that in mind

  • Would like to see some of these in the 32 -> 64 range at suitably adjusted prices.

I've had this 256gb on my keychain for most of a year, barely notice it is there and very durable.
The dual side USB-A USB-C is a significantly better option over the flimsy push-click ones.

Edit: Not sure if this is the exact same one, but the silver model A$46.45 via Prime.
