$400 Trade-in Bonus for Purchasing Samsung Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra @ Samsung Store

150

Samsung have just flipped the Galaxy deals again. S21+ and S21 Ultra Trade-in bonus are now $400 on each, changed from $500 and $300 respectively. No deal on S21.

This has updated on the 11/01/22 after the last Trade-in bonus concluded yesterday.

Definitely no where near as good as the deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672672

Price in title please, for a moment I thought I would get the ultra for $400

    • +1

Wishful thinking a vote for that 👍

  • 512gb Ultra shows out of stock on my end something to consider when there is no sdcard slot on the S21 range 👍😁

I'd wait, S22 releasing in February.

    "Get a bonus $400 off Galaxy S21 series 5G with trade-in."

All three models have the $400 trade-in. I checked, and S21 from $849. Not great, considering past deals.

    • Yeah bit of a hard sell when it's been down to just over $600 during Telstra Day three months ago, especially this close to a new Galaxy launching.

  • +4

There’s no $500 discount as last deal.. only trade in bonus..
so it’ll be from MRP.. for 128GB S21 Ultra..
$1849-$400= $1449 - trade-in value for your phone.. nowhere near the last deal..
I’d just wait for the next sale.. since the new S series are coming out..

    • yes, last time it was on $500 off RRP plus the trade-in deal and some other minor deal.S21U was sub $1000

  • Kinda sad that I have a grey market s10 5G now… :(

    • The one that you need is IMEI number and install their trade up app. I got dual sim S9 bought from Russia, and they accepted both my IMEI for trade up. Not that I send my phone, as they only put $45.

      • The trade up app just reads: "We're sorry but your device is inelegible for the Samsung Trade-up program"

  • +2

Asurion who do the trade in itself (not samsung) are dodgy as (profanity). Claimed my phone had a smashed screen when it was fine when I posted it. Samsung washes their hands of it.

    • +2

Tell me about it, they dogged me $275 for my pristine s20 U.
No explanation, just said the phone was not in good condition. Never again.
I get so fecking mad thinking about how they just took the money off my CC

    • what was Samsung's response regarding the matter? curious to know.

      • +2

Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics Australia.

We appreciate your continued patience as we work with the team to get this sorted for you. Our Trade-Up Team handles all the Trade-Up concerns and enquiries.

We highly advise you to contact them directly via these channels for faster processing and further assistance on this matter.

        Trade-Up Team (Asurion): [email protected]

That's basically it. Emailing that address is where they scam you by showing a different phone, or your phone they damaged.

  • For anyone who's done this before, is the item still at full invoice price? e.g. $1849, and the trade-in bonus' are credit towards the full value? or is the invoice price lowered by the trade in amounts?

    • the final discounted price will show.

    • +3

Don't buy it atm. A couple of weeks ago it was $500 off RRP, plus $500 bonus trade in. Plus a couple of coupons you could stack on top. It will come back soon, particularly with the S22 release next month.

  • I'm waiting for S22 offerings

    • +2

I got a S21 5G for $399 in March last year with Samsung's discount off RRP, bonus trade-in and a couple of stacked coupons. So hopefully they will do the same with S22.

      • +1

we can only hope… for now, I'll stick with my S10+

        • I'll stick with my 5G Note 10 Plus 512gb varient, hopefully the S22 Ultra (aka Note 22) comes out with an sdcard slot,. though not holding my breath that happening

Everyone, I have personally seen asurion charging admin fee of $60 to someone (on top of trade-in price). Not that it's too much, but earlier it was not the case when not sending device back. So please be aware.

    • Received the warning to send phone in 48hrs or else $75 will be charged. ($60+trade in value of $15). Got my new phone a month ago and will see how it goes.

      • Please report back.. haven’t received any mail from Asurion for Z Flip3 purchased last month..

        • +2

Can confirm that I have been charged $60 admin fee + $15 trade in value for a total of $75 to my debit card. Order placed on 12th December, trade in was Iphone 10xr

I did the trade-in for my old S8 ($5 trade-in value) for a S21+ in December, and received it last week (I ordered a special colour, so it took a bit longer to arrive). Nowhere on the website, fine print and all, did it say I would be liable for any admin fee (ie. $60) if I didn't send the old phone in, only that I would be charged for the trade-in value of the phone (in my case, $5). I scoured that entire website every step of the way just to be sure, so I'd be shocked if they tried to charge me $60 now for not sending in the phone. ($5 for a perfectly working S8 is a joke.)

Nope, you agreed to the Trade Up terms and conditions by participating.

        https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/terms/trade-up/samsung-online-trade-up-terms.pdf?$ORIGIN_PDF$

Device Non-Return Administration Fee means a $60 administration fee which will be charged by Asurion in addition to the Device Non-Return Fee.

Device Non-Return Fee means a fee which is equal to the amount of the discount You received when
Your unique Trade ID was applied at the point of sale when You purchased Your New Samsung Device
Online in accordance with clause 5.2 of these Terms and Conditions.

5.2 Once the Samsung Trade-Up App confirms that Your Existing Device Qualifies for the Program, You will be:
        (a) advised of the discount that You will receive off the Purchase Price of a New Samsung Device if You purchase Your New Samsung Device Online and trade-in Your Existing Device to Us; and
        (b) provided with a unique Trade ID that You can use to apply that discount at the point of sale when purchasing Your New Samsung Device Online from Samsung.

Therefore in your case, the "discount" you were advised of was $5. The Bonus trade in value contributed by Samsung technically would not fall into this clause because that amount was not notified in the app and was attributed only in the shopping cart on the website.

  • Trade in is not working. Am i alone?

    WARNING ALL TRADE UP PUNTERS

Asurion is indeed charging their $60 admin fee. Just got hit for my December trade in that I didn't return a phone on.

    • Same

    • Same

    • +1

So you still kept discount and tradein bonus?

    • Same got hit up for $70. Trade in phone was Iphone 7 valued at $10. Still worth it for the $500 trade in value.

  • I am pretty sure in the Trade up app on one of the last pages it stated if phone not returned you will be charged the whole amount, no mention of the admin fee.
I checked the T&C on their page after saw people talking about admin fee etc. where there was a mention of admin fee.
Not sure if anyone could confirm if that was the case.

Well this is strange. I already have the phone, but I did not get any instructions on how and where to send the phone I traded in. Were they supposed to send me an email?

    • +1

      Email will come later

    • I'm the same. Received my flip pre Xmas. Still waiting

    • in the same boat here. contacted Samsung live chat today and they asked me to contact Asurion directly… so pretty useless. i wouldn't bother going to Asurion because it says on samsung website that we will receive an email with intructions.

  • The S21 ultra black have no stock, will this likely to return?
