"
Greetings ,

Check it out here.
"

You might not be familiar with all their songs but they have classics such as:

* Mexico
* Pirate Song
* Totuga
and more!

If you don't subscribe to any music service this is a decent alternative. Works out to ~$12AUD per album, depending on what exchange rate will be at the time. I'm not sure when this deal expires.

  • ‘If you don't subscribe to any music service this is a decent alternative’ 😂 - anyway I imagine the band will enjoy a few purchases if you love their music

    I don’t know if this is much of a bargain and haven’t heard of the band, but I buy a bit of music from Bandcamp. They are a way of purchasing music where most of the money you pay goes direct to the band. Buying a CD at JB or even worse, through iTunes, Spotify etc, the band gets only a fraction and most of your money goes to the platform or the label (eg Sony).

    Through Bandcamp, you can pay kind of what you want, with a bottom limit. Then they send you a link to directly download the FLACs or MP3s. You can also buy vinyl and CDs.

    Not all bands are on it though, but a fair few are. I buy Courtney Barnett music through it, plus work by Ladytron, Best Coast, Hatchie, etc.

    Just need to find some tequila and a donkey now.

  • Looks like there might be a few of these deals happening, I got a similar email for another band.

    (profanity) you, you're a (profanity) (profanity). We're gonna punch you right in the balls!

    • (profanity) you, with a (profanity) anchor
      You're all (profanity) so (profanity) you all!

  • Not really a massive fan of Alestorm, but gotta give an upvote for Bandcamp. One of the best ways to support an artist.

    Check out Captain Hellfire & The Wretched Brethren for a local alternative.

    Go find the video where the duck gets killed. Well worth the few minutes of your time.

    And if it concerns you where your money goes, their keyboard player is not a particularly nice person.

  • Alestorm is freakin awesome.
    I have a Spotify subscription though.

  • Alestorm is way less fun than Gloryhammer, but also probably don't give these douchebags money.

  • I find it very strange that a band would be selling their discography for almost the exact price (the digital deluxes are 5 extra) of all 15 constituents, to begin with.

    It gets worse when you realise 3 of the releases include the normal then digital deluxe versions, so actually, you're just double paying for the the same album (assuming you buy the digital deluxe to begin with).

    So 10% off? Yeah nah.
