Shipping was only $4 for me in metro Melbourne. Quick look at other online stores and ebay shows prices from $80 - $100. This is a one day deal.

Hmmm… better to buy now or wait for LTS to respond?

They've screwed up somewhere though: calculates $4 shipping for me (Melb metro), but the banner ad states "free delivery".

Maybe if you order, you can then claim back the $4 as an overcharge - that would make this extra attractive.

  • I bought this from Logitechshop for $50 with free shipping, so this is a good value. The unit works well, recharges iPhone as well.

Can choose from aux input, so on my desk, I can select computer audio or the aux input and the ipad/iphone. Has clock and alarm and fm radio. Nice unit for around the $50 mark. I also get $4 shipping to Central Coast NSW

Logitechshop sold out rather quickly, and you also get reward points from bigW (Not much but something)

  • Does this provide enough power to charge an iPad Gen3? (ie 10w - 2amp @ 5v)

      • Doesn't mention anything about charging power, just dock connector.

        • Then try this NZ site - they say it does

          http://www.elive.co.nz/logitech-bedside-dock-for-iPad-dv5230…

Also son has ipad3 and has used ipad1/ipad2 car connector and it recharges fine. Maybe not as powerful as the standard ipad recharger, but it does recharge. Hope that helps (He doesnt live at my house so I cant test with my unit)

        • Then try this NZ site

          It doesn't really say either.

It does say "compatible with iPad3" but it also says "Total watts (RMS):6" which is less than the 10 watts the iPad Gen 3 needs to charge.

If you have one handy, what's the power-pack say? Normally they have maximum wattage listed. It it's 20-30w or over, that'd be a good sign.

I ordered one anyway. Hopefully it'll work, otherwise I'd have to remember to charge my iPad separately everyday.

Total Watts refers to the speaker power, not its recharging capability.

        • 9v 2000mA according to power supply

        • 9v 2000mA according to power supply

That's 18 watts. I suppose that's just enough, if you assume 6 watts for the unit itself. Not much margin for error though.

Guys it's compatible with iPad, iPad 2 & the New iPad - our teams have already tested/checked all our products. The only thing that isn't compatible is the Fold-Up Keyboard due to slight change in size of New iPad

      • Thanks. Might be worth having them update your online product details

        • You are right actually, we are going to find out why it isn't. Let us come back to you once we do. Maybe there is an issue with the slight increase in thickness but our understanding is it's fine.

        • +1

Yeah we got confirmation from our Regional Product Team that it is fine. We've also asked them why it isn't updated on our website too. Cheers :-)

  • Great buy but don't think screen rotates which is a negative for me. Reviews say sound quality is quite good.

    • It doesn't unfortunately, but check out our iPad Speaker Stand which does..plus also tilts for angle.

  • Recently bought one from Logitech Shop. It's a good unit. I use it with with the Tunein Radio app on my ipad to function as a bedside alarm/radio as FM reception isn't very good at my house. Sound quality is fine for this purpose.

  • Anyone know if it is back cover friendly? I have a TPU cover on my iPad 3 and look for a bedside dock/charger like this.

    • I doubt it.. none of the dock things seem to be friendly with covers.

    • Mine just fits the ipad1 with the apple folding cover on it. If that helps you.

Guess that with the ipad3 the overall thickness with cover would be less.

My iPhone4 fits well with a plastic back cover

    • bought this unit from logitech deal, it doesn't work on my ipad 1 soft plastic cover.

    • Probably not, it's hard with covers given the millions of variations and how they can effect the space around the connector.

  • Tempted by this, but just wish there was an adapter to fit an iPad 2 into a Bose Sounddock Portable. Any ideas?

  • Bugger, sold out!

Rang 130024499923 (5-10 minute hold time) and got a $4 gift card. Said IT was aware of the issue - it is supposed to be free shipping.

    • +2

I called and emailed they said they know of the issue and will have an accounts person call and issue a refund. Sounded like this was something they will be doing for everyone as a mater of course.

Makes it an even better deal

  • Just got a call saying that my order is being cancelled due to lack of stock. They will honour the price in the future if it ever comes back in stock.

For got to ask on the phone, but I used a Wish gift card to pay for this. Once the order is cancelled, do the funds automatically on back on the gift card like a credit card, or an I out of pocket $46?
