Haha I guess OP preferred the black one for some reason!

    shite

    Yes they are ^^

Better off sticking with something like the Inissia and an Aeroccino 3

Not a bad price, but I had this one and it was really a pain in the a$$ to clean compared to the Creatista range (which I now have)

  • It's actually $323.10 after 10%, even better.
As above, I have the Creatista too and it's a breeze for cleaning.

    • Creatista is at different price point right?

      • Yeah it is and many people would say it's just better off getting a proper coffee machine at that price.

However the ease and convenience wins for me since I'm not a pro coffee person anyway. I like the 3 second warmup time, easy steam wand and I have my morning coffee ready within about 90 seconds.
Then just need to wash the milk jug and occassionally empty the pod bin and drip tray.

I did get it for a pretty decent price when it first launched back in 2016 though, I think someone posted a deal on here that it was $799 down to $637, then stacking $100 Amex cashback and $70 Nespresso credit. I thought it was decent given it was a new model and the steam wand was great.

        • For that price it's far better to just get an automatic machine, it will be less cleanup, less waste, and easier coffees. That is if you actually enjoy coffees, if you don't care then nespresso is good at being quick. If you have the steam wand, then it's even closer to a normal coffee machine anyway.

As an example, I was able to buy this Delonghi pre lockdown for $499. It auto tamps so way less mess, auto grind, you can use the grounds to fertilise your plants which works wonders, no waste like the pods, higher pressure (faster) steam wand, and you can actually customise the taste of the coffee. Long run it will be significantly cheaper than nespresso too, get aldi beans for $11 for 1kg to make over 50 cups of coffee, while the same with nespresso would be over $50 with pods.

          • @onlinepred: Yeah I understand where you're coming from.
For me personally, I find this makes consistent coffee well enough in a small footprint that suits my needs.

@unco: Yea 100%, no one is getting a Nespresso to save money that's for sure! The smaller footprint is a good point. The one thing the nespresso is good at is making the same coffee over and over.

Decent machine if you like the nespresso taste, and you don't make many coffees at the same time.

  • I can't decide if I want to replace my Latissima Plus which is five years old, has already had air bubbles in the piping once, and seems to not be lasting as long in between descaling (could just be my imagination since we are WFH now and drink a lot more coffee). Thoughts?

(I'm about to buy a descaling kit so in some ways I sae myself the trouble of that!)

    • How often are you descaling?

      • Seems to be once every 3-4 months… maybe that's normal since we drink on average 2 cups each working day (one for me, one for wife).

        • +1

          Yep entirely normal.

          • @onlinepred: I think prior to the pandemic we only drank it on weekends which is probably why I didn't need to descale it for so long!

  • What is the difference between EN500 and this EN510?

    • The new one, EN510 has a lid on the milk container so you can refill whilst using it.
