James Bond No Time to Die 4K $24.99 @ Google Play & Apple iTunes

103

Partner wants to go to the movies and one of the option was the latest James Bond.

With current omicron outbreak and cases raising sharply, may be stay home instead.

Not a bad price for 4k for a movie still showing at the movies, probably cheaper than 2 movies tix too.

Same price for HD/SD on Amazon prime to buy.

Edit: Same price at Apple store, but apparently better sound options. Deal is about the movie available for streaming, not so much about the provider.

Dune as well… not gonna lie I kinda like this trend of movies coming to streaming early.

    • Looks like Dune is $34.99 in 4k to own with Google Play. $29.99 to rent

    • lol 29 bucks for rental?

      • Have you seen the price of TP? :-D

  • +6

Got it from the 7 seas, works like a charm

    • +2

      Yarrr!!!

    • +1

      wat is 7 seas?

  • +6

Didn't really enjoy this Bond film

    • +1

Neither did I… just a terribly made film and I generally like Bond movies

      • Same here. From what I've heard long-time Bond watchers have all disliked this film. If you've only watched the Daniel Craig era ones it probably won't be too bad

  • +3

I bought all of the earlier Bond movies on Google and they’re still HD so this is a welcome change. I still prefer buying on Apple because of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Cost is the same $24.99 on iTunes

    • Thanks for pointing that out. Almost purchased before seeing it was only 5.1.

      • +1

I've noticed in general if you want the best streaming quality for movies and shows, Apple is usually the best bet (especially if you have a TV that can decode Dolby Vision and HDR10+). Another great thing about Apple is they will upgrade you to the higher quality version (when it releases) for no extra charge. A lot of movies which I purchased were originally1080p but are now upgraded to 4K.

Cinema is dead, why bother anymore with bad seats ,overpriced food and noisy crowds

    • +4

My cinema has the opposite of all those things.

      And my kids aren't there.

    • exactly if they can't make there margins at the cinema they will pass it on to the digital release lol. so tha is why its costing 35 bucks for a digital copy!! its not even physcial

  • No really a deal but the best Bonds in many years! Was amazing in the cinema with Dolby Atmos sound

    • Well yes. 6 years since Spectre 😂🤪

    • I'm a huge 007 fan. Even bought an Omega wristwatch after Goldeneye. I just didn't like NTTD. I think the plot shows it was re-written. Such a shame.

  • It has been US$5.99 to rent on US iTunes store for about a month

    • Doesn't seem to be an option in Australia. Would prefer to rent and pay less but at least there is a decent legal alternative.

    • +1

How do I rent in AUS?

      • launches retail stores and rentals on 26th January

  • +4

This is the standard price for a new release on Google Play; it’s also the standard price with Apple, which is a better ‘deal’ (if you can call it that) because it includes Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos playback, where this doesn’t. https://itunes.apple.com/au/movie/no-time-to-die/id158948372…

  • +2

Seems to be $25 everywhere (Prime, Apple) as well as Google.

So if this is the RRP I'm not convinced it's a deal.

    • -3

How much is it at the movies for at least 2 persons though? Option that partner shared with me was $42 ticket each at gold class (granted it's not the same comfort than couch)

      • +5

Not really relevant, is it? Price for price the same item is fixed rrp. That's not a deal. Finding a theater that did two seats in gold class for cheap would be bargain worthy.

        • -4

What's the cheapest alternative at the movies, generally available?

          • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: I live in Croydon, the local cinema here is 10 bucks a person, 8.50 for members. The missus lives in Cockatoo, the local cinema there (in Belgrave) is 10 bucks for members.

We saw No Time to Die there months ago. For less than this. Why would I wait and pay more to watch it at home? I like my TV, I got a 75 inch 4K fancy pants thing, it looks quite nice, but no home TV is even close to the smallest screen at a cheap independent cinema.

Also these days, most cinemas allow you to bring in your own stuff (within reason). Reading, Village, Cameo, Croydon, etc. are all fine whenever I come in with a Pepsi already in hand. If you're not that brazen, bring a goddamn backpack. Don't use the price of their food as a reason to say they suck when no one is forcing you to buy their food, also, goddamn, it's a 2ish hour movie, you can survive without a meal in the middle.

      • +5

Not the same experience at all; you could say that about any cinema ticket to digital purchase comparison.

        • -2

Guys, I'm not comparing digital to gold class, it was the only option available to us at the time we looked. Genuine question though, what would be the "normal" price for 2 tix at the movies (aka next best alternative)

          • +2

@ShouldIBuyIt: Price at my local at Readings Cinemas in Burwood is $13.50 per person, so about the same price as this for 2 people, except released 2 months ago, includes recliner chairs, laser projection and dolby atmos sound system.

      • +2

Does it matter? Most rental movies are $6.99 so for home viewing experience this is quite the opposite of the bargain.

        • -4

          Supply and demand.
You can get a PS3 for nothing yet a PS5 is $700+ if you can find stock. Yet they are both PlayStation.
If that's the movie you want to watch and only other alternative is to fork out $30-$80+ then it's a deal.

          • +1

@ShouldIBuyIt: But it's not, the movie is the same price from other online sources, and plenty of other movies are much cheaper.

          • @ShouldIBuyIt: Well, you can get an old DVD copy of Casino Royale for nothing, yet No Time to Die is $25 to stream. Yet they are both Daniel Craig Bond movies.

      • 35 bucks you own Dune for ever, 42 bucks you see it once.

    • +5

This, it's RRP. It's ridiculous and not a deal at all, if this is allowed then every new movie that comes out would be a "deal".

  • -2

Not a deal, but best Bond I've seen in a long time.

    • +2

One of the worst in my opinion… Daniel Craig should have finished after Spectre

      • Any problems with the movie were not his fault, he was pretty solid in the movie.

        • Personally I think his character didn't actually fit the role as well in this movie, but I do agree the writing was pretty horrific.

    • +2

Casino Royale was Daniel's best bond movie IMHO. In fact, its my fav Bond movie ever. But I hated every other movie in this series. Not Daniel's fault, the movies just had such a poor story and setting. This one was the worst

  • +2

You may consider this deal too
All Daniel Craig James Bond movies including OP for $50 @Apple. Good find.

  • Released on 4k blu-ray on Jan 26 for those wanting to pick up a physical copy but is currently $35 on Amazon for pre order

    • I had no ideas movies were released so quickly now.

      • Just Covid things.

  • +3

how is this a deal? thats just regular price

  • Now $6.99 to rent on prime :-)
