Verbatim Rapier Gaming Mice - V1 $16, V2 $14 + $10 Shipping

42

Cheap USB mice for gaming, with laser tracking, adjustable weighting, configurable teflon pads and programmable buttons. The V1 has 9 buttons, the V2 has 8. Pricing elsewhere seems to be $40+shipping, or $30+ on ebay.

Reviews were mixed for the V1, generally positive for the V2, but considering most gaming mice cost $50-120, this seems like a great mouse for the money, and a pretty good deal.

Main link is to the $14 V2, and here's the link to the V1.

Manufacturer links: Rapier V1, Rapier V2

EDIT: Shipping costs seem to range from $10 for capital cities up to $17 for rural areas.

    $10 shipping? just laugh….

    • Hahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice share but wireless mice ftw!
lol almost thought the weights were the batteries then remembered it was usb powered.

    • Don't like wireless mice myself (heavier, need batteries, pairing issues, have to switch them on & wait for them to connect etc). USB mice are fast, simple and reliable.

Still, for a laptop I can see the attraction of a wireless mouse.

Wireless gaming mice are for noobs. Slower response time & batteries prone to run out at worst possible times. Great for laptops but for serious gamers you gotta go the wired.

$13 shipping kills it… the Logitech G400 is a much better mouse when it was $20 from LTS or $24 from DSE…

    • Shipping to capital cities is $10, but it looks like more to rural areas, up to $17 :-/

Yeah, they look like good alternatives too. The G400 is certainly nice, but I can't find one under $35 now. The Mini Cobra is cheap, but not laser tracking, lower specs and less configurable. The Gigabyte is laser but still lower specs/not configurable, and also more expensive after shipping. Still, there's something for everyone.

    it's mouses, not mice.

      lol

The fourth edition of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language endorses both computer mice and computer mouses as correct plural forms for computer mouse. Some authors of technical documents may prefer either mouse devices or the more generic pointing devices. The plural mouses treats mouse as a "headless noun".

    • The Macquarie also recognises both for computers, so your correction is unnecessary.

  • Why is the v1 more expensive than the v2?

    • Wondered that myself.. the V1 does have an extra triple-click "hot key" and slightly different specs.

I've only had the v2, and it was absolutely awesome. Best mouse I've ever owned.
The macro recording function is brilliant. Not sure if it does it with the v1 though.

    wired? lol

    • wireless? lol

  • bought this from HN a few months ago for $20

  • Am I the only one who misread the name of the model and thought, "Wow, Verbatim must be going all-out, chasing the hardcore gaming market."

    • Nope. I got that too. ;)

  • I thought the title said Verbatim Raper at a glance. That would be a crazy name for a gaming mouse with the vocabulary of you kids playing games online these days!
