Follow the instructions below:

      I wouldn't risk MTCGAME though. I bought through them when I renewed my GPU… The transaction sat "pending" for 4 days before being cancelled with no explanation.

      And their customer service is the worst.

        I used the CD Keys option personally towards end of last year.

        Noticed Eneba had a few issues from their December posting - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672910
        (This could of been an update implemented by Microsoft at the end of the year though to prevent these workaround options, not sure)

    argh… i just bought 2x @$51 earlier today and contributed to instructions in the last post….@op can you review my post earlier today and copy my extra more detailed instructions over here? i think it will be even more clear.

    1. After you have redeemed the gold at redeem.microsoft
    2. Turned off VPN !!! i read some people report they get a country mis-match error - i wonder if it's because of this step. If you keep your VPN on, you would make your new Game Pass purchase (next steps) from Turkey. This is obviously undesirable, so turn off VPN.
    3. Opened up Xbox App, you should already be logged in and on the home page, select Game Pass button to see the available Game Pass options
    4. Select Game Pass Ultimate (i need the cloud gaming), you should see the pricing of $15.95 as someone without any current sub. Or if you are a brand new user you should get offered $1
    5. Go thru purchase of Game Pass, you should get a pop up explaining with purchase you will have your Gold converted + Game Pass end date of x number of months that you redeemed
    6. Complete purchase and voila!
    7. I would highly suggest you goto your Microsoft account and under Subscriptions you should see Xbox Game Pass Ultimate renewal date listed a month AFTER your subscription date. and A. double check the date. B. Turn off recurring billing
      **This turn off recurring billing is super important… otherwise you will get slapped with $15.95 in x months.

      The only option is to upgrade to Ultimate Gamepass which includes PC. It's still way cheaper than buying PC Gamepass from Australia though.

      For the entirety of your live gold sub.

      Load up 12 months of live gold, do the $1/$15.95 upgrade, then you have 12 months of game pass ultimate.

    Uhoh, applied the Xbox gold successfully for 3 years.
    Unfortunately the upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate refuses to go through.
    "You currently have a subscription from a different region"

    Have tried on-vpn, off-vpn, browser and xbox app.
    Might have just thrown away $150 :/

    Anyone have any suggestions besides copping it on the chin ?

          Make sure your account profile region is Australia, and the microsoft website you use for upgrade is set to Australia. Otherwise try the upgrade site from Brazil. Final resort would be to contact support. I heard they ve been helpful and can upgrade it for you.

                @Binchicken22: I went through their regular support channel and the champion on the other line went above and beyond and sorted me out.
                Took 45 minutes, they had to get backend support to change my region back to Australia from Turkey (I stuffed with it thinking that would work), then they Cancelled all existing subscriptions, had me resubscribe to ultimate for a month, and they reapplied the extra months on.
                It was a chore and I don’t think I’d want to go through that again!

                  Just pre ordered a series X and thinking of giving this a go but don't want to waste $150 either.

      I'm currently trying to solve this problem. So far, Xbox Support have suggested that I should:

      1. Buy a 1-month Game Pass gift card from Amazon (still got the "wrong region" error)
      2. Add funds to my Xbox wallet and then purchase the Game Pass upgrade (I wasn't prepared to do this after wasting $15 on the card from Amazon)
      3. Wait 1 month, because the region error is probably caused by trying to add a 1 month Game Pass subscription to a 36 month Xbox Live Gold subscription. Apparently this would extend my Game Pass membership to 37 months, which isn't possible.

      It's almost been a month since I purchased the XBL Gold subscription, so I suppose I'll find out soon if option number 3 actually works. Xbox Support seem to be very hit and miss though - each person that you speak to has their own different ideas about how to fix the problem!

      Do you have an active game pass subscription at the time? If you do, unfortunately, it is not a 1:1 conversion rate

          If you are sure that your gpu has expired yet gold (12 months i assumed?) only converted to 4 months, best to contact xbox support. If they say no, close and try another rep. And did you actually convert your gold or stop at the confirmation? How many months did you buy?

      If you currently have game pass, the gold is converted at a 3:1 ratio. So the 12 months of gold you bought from Eneba equals to 4 months of extension to your current game pass end date.

      I gues you can leave the gold in your account, and wait till your game pass expires, THEN resubscribe at $15.95 and choose to convert your gold at that later time. Altho the conversion ratio may not be 1:1 at that time.

    Worth noting, I was never subscribed and have never had a trial of game pass in the past, so YMMV. It definitely seems to work for new users. I had an existing microsoft account (for those wondering), but didn't have a game pass subscription.

    * I followed the procedures, installed Windscribe chrome extension, connected to Istanbul.
    * Loaded https://redeem.microsoft.com/ and signed in with my account.
    * On the following page, it shows "redeem your code or gift card".
    * I copied and pasted the above code XLGTOXGPU and received this error "The code you entered is not complete. Please enter all 25 characters to redeem your code or gift card."
    What am I doing wrong? Thank you…

      Don't risk it. Just wait it out. Sometimes they resell these codes so you need to use them ASAP.

        just hold out. chances are there will be newer coupons closer to when you need it. Minimise the risk of codes being re-sold because they weren't activated for months after buying.

        i activate all codes i get asap. you never know if the seller re-sells. If you run into problems it'll be better closer to purchase date too.
