May others not made same error I did.

Ordered iPad from them on Dec 19th. On January 14 they finally get back to me and announced they have demo product only.

Avoid if you can.

    Ok

  • I never had any problems with them - purchased from them a few times.

They do suggest yo check before ordering runout stock.

  • Sounds like they (or their supplier) were closed for the usual 2 weeks or so. Prob went to back order then supplier said nah can’t do. Or your order got in after someone else’s who took the last few before their system could allocate etc

Cheers, I won't order an iPad from anywhere just before Christmas next year.

Yea they take ages to reply, Never answer the phone, email only that too only after a fortnight.

I have heard that they are just a Harvey Norman subsidiary, So yeah not too surprised, I hate Gerry already enough that probably cant hate him any further

  • You are correct.

    Harvey Norman Group
The School Locker, a company under the Harvey Norman Group umbrella, is a joint venture between Gerry Harvey business group and former Harvey Norman chief information officer Kaine Escott. It retails school uniforms and school supplies, including electronics.

  • Happens every year, between xmas and the new school year rush, iPads run out!

  • Harvey Norman owns them what do you except, why didn't you call them after a few days ?

Or go to the store ?

Merged from DO NOT BUY, unreliable and unprofessional

I have purchased an ipad and a case for school. Ipad was delivered on time however the case is still pending after months of wait.
My son broke the ipad without case and the company has nothing else to say but ‘ you cannot get refund for an opened product’.

Does anyone know how I can take further action?

    Thanks

Ask for a refund for the case.

Does anyone know how I can take further action?

Learn from your mistake, You allowed your child to use the device knowing that without a case damage may occur.

    • +17

Why didnt you go and buy a cheap case from Amazon or eBay while waiting for the other case? You could have even then asked for a refund.

Bit rich saying because the case wasnt delivered is the reason the iPad got smashed. Responsibility sits squarely with you.

Or even from one of those mobile phone kiosks at the local shopping centre

    • +17

Have you been to a shopping centre in the last few months?

You can pick up a cheap iPad case at those mobile phone/tablet cover kiosks that you probably walked past a dozen times.

I DO NOT BUY your lame excuse.

I DO NOT BUY your blame shifting.

I DO NOT BUY your sense of entitlement.

"I let my child use a $500+ tablet computer without a case and it broke. How can I make the person selling cases responsible?" Are you even an adult or a pile of small children wearing an adult suit?

I guess after all the feedback the OP has gotten, they'll be DisabledUser425865, like yesterday's new poster where it was alleged the car he was selling a write off.

Yes. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions.

      Another 1 post wonder?

you cannot get refund for an opened product

If you bought new from Apple (you didn't say so, but let's assume you did), then the above statement is not correct.
Just because the package was opened, doesn't mean you cannot get a refund.
There are all sorts of reasons why you can get a refund with an opened package, but unfortunately allowing one of your offspring to break it is not one of them.

Meh same thing happened to my phone, slipped out of my pocket while I was waiting for a protective cover to arrive and cracked the screen. Sucks to be me but it was my fault so I don't expect anyone else to have to cover it. (Though from memory I think I got a bit back from the credit card company for accidental damage within 2 weeks.?)

    • It’s your fault for rolling the dice and putting it in the hands of a child without a case.
I would not allow me to have mine in my hands without a case. The cost of a cheap case whilst waiting for a genuine one is far cheaper than a cracked screen.

Observe as this L-plater will never bother to respond to his own post.

Take further action against who, your son?

You do realise that a business is not responsible for you breaking a product, right?

The sense of entitlement here is astonishing. You literally say that your son broke something, and you want [someone] to pay for it. that someone is you.

Have you tried laying on the ground, kicking your legs in the air and screaming?

  • take further action?

Have you considered GoFundMe to pay for a new one OP?
