Update: Product will now ship in 1 - 4 weeks
I purchased a few at $2.50 for a single pen a couple of weeks ago. This is pretty good pen IMO.

Blue now available here: Blue

Black now available again: Black

Note: The 5-pack and the 12-pack works out more expensive (per unit) for some reason.

From Amazon:
The Frixion 0.7 mm Fine Tip Roller Ball Erasable Black Ink Gel Pen produces ink that can be instantly erased if you make a mistake. With its rubber-tipped end, it erases ink cleanly using friction generated heat meaning that you can write, erase and then rewriting with ease. Featuring a fine 0.7 mm tip and removable cap with clip, this pen enables smooth, fluid handwriting that makes them ideal for everyday home or office use. However, they are not recommended for signatures, legal documents or other documents where writing needs to be permanent.

  • if it's erasable then definitely don't want to use it for official documents!

I went through a phase of using these, they do rub out but not 100% or at least not easily and not if you even slightly press into the paper as you write.

I use these at work all the time, I have had no issue fully erasing the ink. They are absolutely great, game changer for my industry. I would note that I had heard from a colleague he had placed an engineering drawing with mark-ups from these pens on the hot hood of a car (recently driven, so engine heat was coming through) and the heat erased the ink. So it seems while it is friction that removes the ink, it's possibly the heat generated from the friction that is actually what erases the ink. I've had drawings on a clipboard with this ink over them in the hot sun all day and no ink ever erased itself so it must require excessive heat.

Note that I haven't done any research into these pens or how they work, I'm just speaking 100% from my experience with them.

As I was typing this I see the comment below that actually says they erase with heat, so that explains what I have said but CFD'd re-writing my post.

because they erase with heat, if you leave something where its hot and it gets erased, pop it in the freezer to bring it back

Freezer didn't work for us when someone left a box of them in the car ><

Ah sorry should clarify - was referring to something you’ve written on paper not the pen itself

God damn remember the intense orgasmic feeling of bringing one of these bad boys to primary school c.2004 (without a pen license, mind you) and instantly being rendered the most popular kid in class for about 5 minutes.

    I miss that feeling.

    • You peaked too early.

    Black is OOS

  • Great for studying too. Can be useful for IT cert study like AWS or SF.

Used a lot while practicing diagrams where I could erase mistakes and continue.

I use this at work, and used during my years at uni.

    I find it great!

we need more pen deals like this

  • Thanks

  • These pens are great for crafts, e.g. embroidery. Draw your design, stitch away and blast with a hairdryer and it's gone. Some report issues with red, so I stick with blue and black myself.

Useful for anyone who's using reusable notebooks like rocketbook or elfinbook. I had ordered last week, didn't think would be much love from ozbargain!

I worked as a Trainer about 4 years ago and did week long courses. I handed these pens out at the start of the week and once everyone had finished a crap ton of assessments and writing, I left them in my car over the weekend here in QLD.

As you can imagine, the writing disappeared, but i popped the folders in the freezer and it came back enough to mark.

Honestly, my favorite pen to work with.

They also brought out a line of highlighters which do the same :)

Great product. I use them to write cards, among other things.
