    Sounds legit ;).

These are really compact and light, made for hiking.

I bought 3 person - $20 "Australian Zoo" tent ~14 years ago, from Kmart. used it 5-10 times per year and its still in ok shape.

      what's your point?

      • -4

Learn to read. Point was that it's not a good deal despite of all the Kmart "Australian Zoo" tents you may have purchased.

These are for hiking. It like saying my hatchback was cheaper and is still working why do you need a 4wd?

          • -1

@sjp770: Just because you made a stupid comparison, no you don't buy a hatchback in the price of a 4WD. If you do then you're stupid.

            • @bigbadboogieman: I bought a tent for the price of a hatchback and it's stuffed. Still it's better than the Australia Zoo tent.

I used my friends Naturehike tent + mattress last month for a night out in the bush.

Tent was super easy to setup and compact! Mattress was surprisingly comfortable for how compact it is.

      Stay a while and listen,,,

  • What's the difference between the posted tent, and the other 'cloud up' Naturehike tent?

The 'cloud up' tents have frequently been 15% off, ~$119 for a 1P tent based on ozbargain history.

    • This has side access instead of front access. Appears to be based on the Nemo Hornet line. I've never seen this particular Naturehike tent so make sure it's genuine!

    • Cloud Up 1 : 1 door, 1 vent, Packaged weight:1.6 kg
      This tent : 2 doors , 2 vents, Packaged weight: 1.5 kg
these are the most obvious differences

  • Good tents. I've got a Naturehike Mongar, solid copy of the MSR Hubba Hubba NX

  • keen to try, i used a cloudup2 for a while with no issues but i want a more sturdy 1 person tent than my lanshan 1, which is light, but not very comfortable

Is the 2 person tent 1.21kg, 1.82kg or 1.95kg? Very confusing to find 3 different information under the same product 🤔

    • i would say 1.8 , that's about my 2 with poles, pegs and ground sheet. most of these weights leave out things like ground sheet and pegs / guy ropes.

      • it says: Weight: 1300g(20D Silicon fabric)(do not include the nails and ropes),1500g(210T checked fabric)(do not include the nails and ropes)

If it's 1.3kg plus guylines and tent pegs then it's pretty elite for sub $100.

    • 1 person packaged weight:1.5 kg
      2 person packaged weight:1.95 kg
packaged weight means total weight, include everthing.Poles, nails, ropes, floor mat, inner tent, tent fly included.

  • Sub $50 sleeping mat recommendations?
Looks ok at $39, but Trekology seems to have best reviews and sales on Amazon?
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Trekology-Inflatable-Sleeping-Pad-…

    • paid reviews, but for that price it is cheaper than thermaest or nemo if you your not hardcore camper/hiker

    • I bought one of those (UL80) last year, yeah, based on a lot of positive reviews both on Amazon and Youtube (although it did seem to be just the flavour of the month sort of thing), unfortunately I haven't actually ended up using it in anger yet, so can't speak to its reliability or actual comfort outside. But it seems to be well made though and was comfortable enough to lie on a for a little bit at least.

The Naturehike one is slightly lighter and thinner when inflated, but slightly wider and longer. Although there's not a lot in it. But the UL80 seems to actually pack down slightly smaller which may be useful.

  • Link for the inflatable bag? Since that single doesn't come with one, as per pictures.
