yeah I got this for 360 delievered the other week from catch so this is a good deal and this vaccum is so good love using it.

    • How is it on hard floor?

      • +2

I use it on wooden floors and it works really well.

    This or Xiaomi g10

    • I would recommend to go with this. Dyson has better support and more variety of replacement parts if something goes wrong or needing additional attachments.

    • Can you get a g10 for around this price now?

    • +1

this, dyson holds value very nice, I bought a V7 3 years ago at the same price

and Dyson warranty is great when you claim for battery

      • How is your experience with the battery life after 3 years?

    • yeah get the Dyson its much better.

      • on what basis? Do you own either?

    • +3

I have been in your situation and decided to go with the G10. Reasons? Cheaper, replaceable battery (so you can get an extra battery, replace it midway and clean the whole house), hands free mode (so my fingers are not sore from holding the button for 10 mins). I use a Dyson everyday at work and the G10 address most of the things I dislike about it.

      • Yeah, it sounds like the commenters above have no experience with the Dreame/G series. The Dyson V7 has been out for a number of years now, its contemporary, the significantly cheaper Dreame V9 outclassed it in almost every aspect. The newer Dreame/G series vacuums are even better.

Holding out for a deal on the G10, seems to be the best bang for buck vacuum at the moment.

Apparently can transform this into a V8 buy buying a V8 battery and filling down a screw. See YouTube.

    • link please

    • hang on what? so the difference between the v7 and v8 is just the battery?

    • +1

probably easier to by a 4,000 mah 3rd party battery on amazon, should get around double run time if you can find a quality one that is.

  • Thanks, ordered.

How is this vs an older V6 (2017). I’ve replaced the battery in the V6 and it still only lasts 5/10 mins.

    • Haha, thanks for saving me the effort!

    • I've just replaced the battery in my V6 a couple of months ago and it's back to its former glory, run times are good.
I bought this one (which has gone up $5 since then), got one for my parents a few months before that too and theirs is running well too. Even my old DC31 is still going strong with a 3rd party battery, now relegated to the garage.

Do you mean 5 mins boost, 10 mins normal? They only claim 6 min runtime in boost mode, motorhead will also shorten the runtime.
If you haven't already, pull the mesh filter out, give the filters and catch can a good clean and check the motorhead hasn't got hair wrapped up inside making it work harder (fixed my neighbours a while back by disassembling the motorhead (ps a small flathead will do the job for their torx screws) and somehow had gotten dog hair wrapped all around the motor shaft inside)

That said, each new model they claim longer runtimes and more suction, so maybe time to do like I did and justify the purchase by moving the old one to the garage :) (we didn't have a floor attachment for the DC31 anyway so was easy decision) Attachment connection changed between V6 and V7 though so if you've got any special accessories will need an adaptor.

It's got a rating of 2.8/5 on Dyson's own website and looks to be discontinued (meaning parts and spares get harder to source)

    • Yeah, looks like after a year of use most people are reporting poor or unusable battery life, and a fair few quality issues with cheap construction.

      • Can back this up. Housemate is on their second replacement and after 18 months needs another replacement due to instability and poor battery.

I'm looking at the Xiaomi for my next one as over Dyson.

      • You should try to follow the 20/80 rule with all lithium batteries, including phones.

I've had my V8 for 3 years now, still running as new with almost daily use

        • That and many don't realise the battery is a consumable and will need to be replaced at some point.
V6 running for over 5 years, finally bought a new battery a few months ago. Up until then was ok on normal, boost mode would die quickly though.
Mind you while we rarely ran it flat, it sat on the charger all those years. Bit of maintenance never goes astray either, pulling everything apart and giving it a good clean out.

        • what is this rule?

  • does this model comes with a motorised head?

    • +1

Yes. The direct drive cleaner head is motorised.

      • Thanks, bought one for inlaws and one for the office

  • Does this model get very loud?

    • +1

There are two modes… Normal and Max.

Normal is fairly quiet but still works well.
Max is noisy but maximises suction.

So if you leave it on "Normal" it should should keep the noise to a minimal level.

      • +7

I prefer good suction with lots of noise

        • +9

          Eye contact?

        • +2

Lol the childishness of OzB never ceases to amaze

  • Is the code specific to the item, or can it be used for other items at ebay bigw?
