The deal with the speaker pack is cheaper than buying just the receiver.
Small speakers, reasonable subwoofer: audiophiles will need to upgrade speakers.
Brought one for myself; playing around with settings but seems to work well (I am not an audiophile)

    Superb deal,
    Just purchased this

    4x HDMI inputs, slim, fits on the media shelf too, and does ARC, so only 1 HDMI cable needed between it and the TV!
    sounds so much better than my 7 year old sony / speaker combo

      Audio Channel return is sweet

      I went out today to buy a new amplifier primarily for this purpose

      Your Bluray, PS3 dvd settop box plugs into the amplifier through HDMI

      and one HDMI cable goes from the Amplifier to the TV
      Enable ARC on the VSX-521 and on the TV that supports it

      If i switch the TV on and watch regular freeview the audio flows backwards out of the TVs HDMI in (Amps HDMI Out)
      likewise the functions integrated into the TV like internet, streaming and DLNA will also flow to the amp speakers

      Traditionally TV only let you use Optical out or analogue out meaning huge wads of cables and lack of support for numbers of multichannel audio formats

        I decided to go to Chaddie and listen to the set myself before committing the money. The set looks good for the price but the sound quality is lower than average. No deal for me this time

    A R C basically means you shove one cable between tv and amp.

    The tv sends its audio back up the cable into the 'output' of the amp!

    I originally ignored this deal when I first came across it in their latest catalogue. Changed my mind after seeing it on OzB. For the price, it's a good replacement for my existing surround sound solution, adding HD codecs and multiple HDMI inputs. It doesn't have the other fancy stuff, but I think I could live with that. I do like how it's compact, and for a small room, more than adequate.

    It has just gone better for extra 50 bux, you get a blu-ray player perfect for me.
