Anything is better than St Ali

    • +1

What have I missed? I tried their coffee at their cafe and thought it was pretty good, so would assume the same with their beans?

  • +5

Ordered the enterprise blend. Had tried Sumatra last time round but didn’t find it interesting enough

    • +1

Get Sumatra when it's 40% off.

      Enterprise when 30%.

      • So is Enterprise better?

        • +2

Sumatra is supposed to be better (priced higher), but it's a matter of personal taste. I think Enterprise is a nicer cup of coffee. Twilight blend is my favourite though.

          • +3

            @Morven: I really like their blend 43

          • +4

@Morven: I agree. I didn't see what the fuss was with Sumatra, especially as I found Enterprise to be better (and cheaper). Haven't tried Twilight yet though - might give it a go!

  • +2

Hopefully lime blue come to the party

    • They might launch a deal over the weekend or next week.

    • I hope so too. Very impressed with the beans from their last special. They're definitely the best coffee brand I've found through Ozbargain.

      • +1

Agreed. Tried Airjo a few times with all the ozbargain hype and found it pretty average. Tried Lime Blue and it was much better even if their packaging isn't as fancy as the Airjo one.

  • +2

I'd happily trade the ozadvertorial airjo 30 for 3 for zero days for zero off.

    • +1

This would only work if they dropped their price to the current sale price otherwise I'm happy for the "ozadvertorial" sale to be here. That way my coffee supply doesn't run out

  • +2

Decided to try Saratoga this time around. Perfect timing for once as I'm just running out of beans!

    • Sataronga won't disappoint you. I tried it last time and I absolutely loved it hence ordering again. Other than Sataronga I have tried their Sumatra, Enterprise, Twilight and Peagasus and my least favourite is Twilight blend till now.

      Enjoy !!

  • +1

Running low on our Sumatra and holding out for the 40% down to $30.57! C'mon Airjo =)

  • How does Airjo compare to ‘bigger name’ specialty roasters like Campos, Five Senses, Single O etc?

    • +1

It's delivered quick once you order it, as for taste that's a totally subjective thing. For me when not roasting my own I used to buy beans from Merlo, not anymore as I much prefer the Airjo Twilight blend.

    • Campos is great but will cost you a lot more, five senses isn't my fav and still cost you more, single O? No idea. But these guys are cheap and punch above their weight. Quite drinkable. I rotate between these guys and lime blue.

    • +1

Campos fan here. (Dark City blend in particular)
I've tried a couple the airjos. Their packaging is very snazzy! and taste is reasonably ok, but they are not worth reordering for me.
No real risk ordering to sample and see if they are agreeable to your tastebuds

  • Hmm Columbia or Twilight?

    • On Columbia currently after trying Twilight and Enterprise.

      • I've had the Enterprise (not a huge fan) and the Sumatra (nice but not worth a premium like it is currently in this sale).

      • I just finished a bag of Columbia but still finding a bag of Aldi Brazil to be a better nutty chocolatey taste, go figure.
I did try Twilight but that was a while ago I don't really remember the taste. Which of those 3 would you say has the most of that type of taste? The descriptions are all pretty similar in the end like smooth and creamy lol.

        • Never tried the Aldi. Enterprise is worth a shot - depends on your brewing method though. If you're chasing that flavour profile you probably want to go with lower ratio brewing methods - eg moka pot.

    • +1

I didn't like Colombia but I love Twilight, so there's my vote.

      • Thanks. Any chance you've tried the Pegasus?

        • +1

Yes, I tried Pegasus more than a year ago, in espresso grind (I now buy whole beans). It was very good, but I haven't bought it again because I like Enterprise blend better. Twilight is my fave, Sumatra is my wife's fave, but we both like Enterprise so we've mostly bought that, with the occasional Sumatra or Twilight depending on specials.

          • @Morven: I must have got a bad bag because I chucked the Enterprise. It was undrinkable. Sumatra was great though.

            • @Daabido: You must have. Check the reviews on the website. Floods of great reviews for Enterprise. Could also be related to how you brew it… I think Enterprise is the main product, aimed at milk-based drinks made in espresso machines.

  • Has anyone tried the pegasus blend?

My current setup is an electronic pour over (Behmor Brazen), any recommendations?

  • +1

For ppl like smooth and creamy coffee which one shall I choose?

    • +2

That's my preferred style too, I'm enjoying the Airjo Twilight blend.

      • +1

That's what I'd pick too. Unbelievably smooth and satisfying cuppa.

  • +1

Shipping is normally quite quick from these guys - except right now I've got a kilo of beans stuck in Auspost hell

    • Yep me too, ordered last Saturday, only today did it go past ‘processing’ to ‘it’s on its way’. Normally much quicker.

      • My last order with express post to metro Melbourne took two weeks. The order before just under.

I just can’t justify paying fresh roaster prices when by the time it gets to you it’s already 2 weeks old.

Until Auspost gets their act together (ha no chance!) then I think you’re better off buying locally if you’re in Melbourne.

        • That's unfortunate - I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 24h to receive a package to Brisbane (as it only comes from the Gold Coast). Have ordered maybe 4 or 5 times.

        • Until recently it's been a couple of days. This latest delivery made it from QLD ok but has been alternating between "out for delivery" and "in transit" for nearly two weeks in Vic.

  • Which one of theirs is comparable to P&R's Porter?

  • Ordered twilight and decaf cheers

  • +1

I'm surprised to see so much twilight fans. I wasn't a fan.
    I'd rate it enterprise>Colombia> sumatra>twilight

    • +3

      You aren't team Edward?

  • I tried Sumatra last sale. I wasn't too impressed with it in milk based drinks.

Long lasting aftertaste as espresso tho.

    • +1

I agree. In fact I preferred the Brazil Aldi coffee but unfortunately that’s out of season currently.

      • +1

Have you tried many of the Airjo ones? Which one would you say is most similar to Aldi Brazil? (except fresher ofcourse!)

  • What's their best for espresso?

    • +1

How long is a piece of string? Do you like light/medium/dark? Fruity and acid or smooth and chocolatey? With milk? Dairy/non-dairy? Straight up?

  • +1

dammit i WAS 1 DAY OFF !! I just bought twilight beans yesterday….. o well.

  • just confirming that 'espresso grind' is the beans ground yeah ?? lol

don't own a coffee grinder unfortunately.

    • Yeah you got it

  • Awesome thanks

  • Can someone help me please? I got a drip coffee sunbeam machine for christmas so I'm new to this.

So far have had Victorio ground coffee from woolies and then the Aldi pre ground coffee , which was much nicer. Looking at giving this a go but not sure what grind to select as there's no drip selection? Would I go Filter Grind? Many thanks

It's better to create a new post rather than keep updating the code. It's doesn't appear at the front page.

    • +2

And other people try to post becomes a dup.

If you want to contribute, do it properly, merely updating a code in an old post that no one sees helps nobody.

    • Maybe they didn't want front page, and just aimed to get repeat customers from thread followers

  • A different code, a month later, is not a duplicate post. What the hell?

  • Thanks guys! Placed my first order for Twilight. Looking forward to receiving it soon.

    • Yeah ordered Twilight as well, have not tried that before, hope it's good.

  • Any chance the 1kg can be sent as 500g x2?

  • +1

Arg I just got a kilo of Enterprise as I was desperately low!

  • +1

Ordered 1kg of Twilight at 3pm on Thursday in Sydney, from Airjo who are in Queensland.

Received 1kg of Twilight at 1pm on Friday in Sydney. Says it was roasted yesterday.

    Impressive!

  • Ordered Saratoga $29.37 - thanks

  • Ordered 20/2 Sunday, shipped 21/2 Monday, received 23/2 Wednesday (Sydney). Roast date for Enterprise was 18/2 Friday.
