What's the bargain? This place is becoming ozadvertising.

Plenty of other bikes in that price range. Spec is basic and nothing to write home about, pretty much the lowest spec hardtail you can get.

      Agree

And the kicker is Specifications are subject to change without notice.

      • +1

to me, the kicker is "Pick up Only (Lynbrook)"

      • +1

Yea and they below average components already lol

    • Yes. Obviously someone has some benefit from this.

I am confused. Description reads "21-speed drivetrain, and 27.5-inch wheels" but the choices are 19, 17, 15, and 13.
Do they know what they are selling or am i missing something

for me the interest is the $2000 bike reduced down to $1000 as $2000 rrp usually have good specs …..hate the $4000 bike reduced down to $2000 …..don’t buy $2000 bike often ….

$700 bike down to $600 … low spec and in unexciting spec.

    • -1

When was the last time you saw a $4000 bike reduced to $2000?

      2019?

      Adorable.

      • close actually mid 2020 …

        • Out of interest, what was it?

    • We are witnessing the price elasticity of demand in practice. There are just more people in this segment of the market where a $100 discount makes or breaks the decision to buy.

  • looks like an AD

At this price Aldi bike is a no brainer.

  • bike value Is compared on 2 levels, green running gear often shimano or sram and what level it is compared to another model, then it’s brand and if the size and geometry suits you …. i know when i bought my cannondale flat bar an influence was how much the 105 running gear cost on cannondale compared to similar models in merida and giant ……. in the end it was $1800 reduced down to $1050 when i bought in 2019 …. 105 running gear was more in merida and giant.

    • yeah, I noticed that the groupset markup goes up with the brand. e.g. Decathlon Triban RC500 (Sora) vs RC520 (105), the price difference is $200 for 2 groupset tiers. Whereas everything else being equal Canyon are charging at least $300 more to jump 1 tier from Tiagra to 105. The more high end the brand the more they use groupsets to tier their products because aftermarket upgrades are going to end up costing way more than the price differences, so you might as well buy the best you can afford.

It just leads me to believe the higher tier groupsets is not as big an impact as the $ leads you to believe. I ride 105 for my Decathlon bikes and GRX400 (ie Tiagra level) on my Canyon and they don't feel majorly different.
